Does anyone know if English 100 - Junior Seminar is offered in both the fall and spring semesters?

Thanks so much!

Yeah I think they are offered in both the Fall and the Spring. Im a transfer student (non-English major) but Im playing the system in order to take one in the Fall. Are you taking one?

You could always look at the Spring 05 schedule and see.

My CalSo is tomorrow, so I plan on signing up for some of my classes then. I plan on taking the junior seminar, this fall . I still have an additional two classes left to declare the english major, but I'm only going to take one of them this semester, and one in the spring. I want to take a few classes in a possible second major now, and it would be nice to have a little variety.

Hm. That's interesting. I checked the schedule for the previous spring semester and didn't see the junior seminar listed. Oh well, I will ask tomorrow. What's your major?

I an American Studies major, but I wish I could double in English and American Studies. I looked into it, but its actually physically impossible for me to take all the classes. Oh well, I guess Ill just settle for a minor in English.

Im taking the "Ventriloquism in the Novel" seminar (section 8). It looks really interesting. That would be funny if we ended up in the same section.

yes. double majoring seems like a very hefty load, especially since english is a pretty demanding major in terms of how many classes are required. i will probably end of minoring as well. im thinking education or cognitive science, but who knows.

hm...that would be funny if we ended up in the same one. but how do you know the title of the seminars? i dont know if we're talking about the same thing...i am looking at english 100 - junior seminar, theres several of them...and they dont seem to have titles. just mentions that the subject material varies by semester. lemme know!

by the way, i could probably figure this out from previous posts, but where are you from, and are you living on campus? if you already attended calso, when is your next appointment to add the rest of your classes? thanks much!

We are talking about the same thing. Theres not alot of info about the class on the schedule of classes, but if you go to http://english.berkeley.edu and click on courses, then course announcement (or something like that) you can see the class titles, descriptions, and reading lists. Its very handy, I would definitely do that.

Im from Santa Clarita, near Magic Mountain in Southern CA. I'll be living in a double minisuite in Unit 2, so Im pretty happy about my situation next year. I went to the first CalSo and registered for 2 classes, and Ill be registering for the rest of my classes on July 28. Im not sure if thats a good appointment time. Whats yours?

oh thanks so much for the information! i'll check out the website right now.

I see that you're taking the seminar with miller, am i right? i went to www.ratemyprofessors.com and the comments indicate that he is truly one of berkeley's best. brilliant professor, and an amazing guy, but intimidating and expects a lot from his students. i'm kinda into that though; I've always had the best experiences with those incredibly intelligent yet hard-to-win over professors. ha.

i remember you now, from previous posts about housing and such. i'm in a double in clark kerr. happy about the social aspect of the building and the proximity to the rec club, but not excited about the distance to classes.

i'm not sure what my next appointment will be, but i'm sure i will find out tomorrow. i expect they're all in late july.
