I’ve already started a lot of the college process, but I’ve recently been very conflicted. I have a wide range of interests and originally I was so set on majoring in music composition. (I still am and I love to write music). Of course I’ve gotten some backlash from a lot of counselors, teachers, etc. so I’ve considered maybe studying composition or double majoring?? This is where the problem comes in. Besides music, I’m all across the board with different majors. I’ve settled it down to forensic science or english. I am more of an arts person, but I still really just want to focus on music. I guess I’m apprehensive because of the concerns and reality of the situation. If I go with a music degree I fear I’d struggle to support myself. Also, I don’t want to waste my time with a degree if I’m just going to work at Starbucks. This is a really long diatribe, but as you can tell, I’m quite conflicted.
Isn’t it great that you don’t have to decide yet?
You can always go for a double major or schools where they have a strong music program to include with your studies.
