Junior looking at some competitive schools/programs! Chance me, and I'll chance back!!

Hi everyone, this is gonna be a long post so thanks in advance for taking the time to read this. I am currently a junior and planning on doing pre-med with a major in biomedical engineering, biology, or anything related really, although biomedical engineering would be most desired.

A little about me: I am a Texas resident, I’m an Indian male, and am in the highest salary range. My high school situation is unorthodox, I go to the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. It is easily one of the most rigorous high schools in the state. We live on a college campus and do classes with other UG students at UNT. Thus, all the classes we take are eligible for dual credit, much like an AP course. Only downside is we have no rank.
Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.82/4.0 (Expect a strong upward trend to maximize at 3.96)
SAT:
2210 Single sitting (800 W 750 M 660 CR Perfect Essay)
2290 Composite (800 W 750 M 740 CR Perfect Essay)
I also took it this past January and expect above 2300 single sitting. All my previous SAT’s were done sophomore year. At the very least I will get my composite over 2300.

ACT: Not yet taken but I expect above 34

Classes: (basically it’s more than the equivalent of AP; these are all classes that I would have completed by senior year. All A’s with the exception of Honors Chem 1)
Honors Biology 1 and 2 with Lab
Honors Chemistry 1 and 2 with Lab
Honors Pre-Cal
Honors Cal 1, 2 and Multi Variable Calculus
Honors English
Honors Physics 1 and 2 with Lab
Honors Poli-Sci and US History
Linear Algebra
Applied Statistics
Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 with lab
Microeconomics
AP Psych: Taking this May
AP Human Geo: 5
AP World History: 5
AP Statistics: 4
I also have research credit

Volunteering:
Children’s Medical Center Surgical Ward - 2014
Children’s Medical Center Audiology Dept. - 2014
Flower Mound Assisted Living Facility - 2012-2014
Mentor Denton Tutoring Facility: 2014
Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society Mentorship Program: 2012-2014

Leadership:
Executive of TAMS Medical Society
Senior Event Coordinator of Ever Care Medical (a 501 c 3 nonprofit)
Board Director of Global Aqua Aid Inc. (Nonprofit Organization)
Planning on launching my own nonprofit for which I would be CEO
Shadowing:
Shadowed an ER Physician for 6 hours
Shadowed a PA for 6 hours
Lined up opportunities to shadow neurosurgeons this summer for over 20 hours

Research:
I do research with the Provost of UNT in the Epigenetic Inheritance in Response to stress using Artemia Salina as an animal model.
(Possible Publications forthcoming. Definitely a solid rec letter)

Also planning on some medically oriented research this summer. Have hear back from some professors but not yet decided on which project.

Awards:
AP Scholar
National Merit Commended (I’ll omit this most likely bc I’m kind of embarrassed by my score. I was sick the day of but still, no excuse)
HOSA Area 5 1st Place for HOSA Bowl
UNT Campus 2.0 Hackathon – 4th

I guess I have some other accolades/stats but these are the most relevant. Also, As far as essays go, I think I will be fine. I write very strongly

As I mentioned, I want to eventually do medicine. I’m applying to some 6/7/8 year programs as well as some exclusively for UG and some that I wouldn’t mind for both. Here they are:
UG: UT Austin Dean’s Scholars or Health Science Honors; Rice University; Austin College; University of Michigan Ann Arbor; UC Berkley; Johns Hopkins University; Brown; U Chicago

Special Programs: Rice/Baylor; Baylor/Baylor; Brown; Northwestern; Boston University; U Miami; UMKC; UT Pact; Penn State
Rice/Baylor would be my dream

Yeah, hahaha I realize that is a bunch of schools to apply to. I was hoping you guys could chance me for some which would allow me to narrow the list down some more. Also, if you have recommendations for more places to apply, I would definitely appreciate it.

Thank you so much for reading all of this. I’ll chance you back of course! And if you have any questions for me, feel free to ask! Thanks guys!!

PLME is reach
chance me back please!

Looks okay-ish for pact. I’ve heard not many tams kids in. You need to have good recs and good interviews (if you get one). family friend got in, so it’s possible.
also for sat don’t look at writing. no one cares about it. look at m+cr composite. i don’t think pact superscores so your m+cr would only be 1410. that’s kind of low, hopefully you can get it up this semester or something. you need hands on medical experience for pact like being a scribe or emt or something.

ec’s look better for rice/baylor.
plain rice - stats good, make sure you have good essays.
not sure why you’re applying to austin college…that’s up to you
berkeley should not be too hard with your stats and good essays and recs.
baylor/baylor is stupid. they open a signup for interview spots that’s first come first serve. if you manage to sign up before everyone else, don’t count on getting in. i’ve heard those who get in have parental connections or something dumb like that.
ut honors (both) are super easy to get into. you are over qualified.

one thing i noticed is that you are kind of lacking in awards. try to get some.

UMich, UCB, JHU, Brown, UChicago, NU, and Rice are match/reaches for everyone.

you look good but you’re very stereotypical for an Indian male planning on going into medicine. also your standardized scores should probably be higher. i think you’ll be fine for most if not all of the schools you’re looking at, though.

chance me back

Thanks normanxi is there anything I can do to stand out and be less “stereotypical”?

Thanks ad54me! How can I get into becoming an emt or scribe or doing something I stand out more?

i think you should demonstrate some interest in non-STEM areas - do some political/social programs over the summer or during the school year

since you’re looking at medicine, your current activities are great, but it’ll be a lot harder for you since colleges will know you’re trying to become a doctor, you’re Indian, and you’re in a high socioeconomic position.

emt is a class that’s 120-150 hours. there are companies that recruit scribes, like physassist in dfw area.
maybe you could participate in more hosa competitions or do your own research and do siemans or an isef affiliated science fair.

John Hopkins is a reach with your current GPA, however if you manage to bring it up to 3.96 you have a fair shot at all of those schools, John Hopkins however I believe will be a low reach
