Junior - Looking for some good match schools

Hi, I am a junior that is starting to look at colleges. I am looking for schools that are similar to the ones I already have and would be a good match.

Babson, Bently, NYU(alumni),Penn State, University of Colorado-Boulder
Suny - Binghamton, Suny - Stony Brook

Some info about me:
Sat: old is 1450 I am taking new one in October, aiming for 2300.
Sat II: Taking in June, probably above 750 in math and physics
GPA: 3.2 unweighted with 2 ap classes
ECs: Pretty good, varsity sport, job and 150 CS hours
School doesn't rank.
Looking to major in business, perhaps international business.

I am looking for large schools that are in the North so that they are close(within a few hours) of skiing areas.

Thanks for any help

What is your class rank (are you in the top 10%)

If you are, you can apply to way more competitive schools. But if not, it might be tough...

i was going to say university of Southern California.. cause they have a pretty good business program even for undergrad. my friend is hoping to go tere under business major, and some special program tat involves international business.. i dont kno much about the interal programs it offers... but then i read that you'd prefer northern schools. While its not in the north....Big bear..and other resorts were are open, dont kno how far they are from USC though. just a thought

Class rank is somewhere in the top 20%

The schools you named are more like safety schools for someone with your SAT scores. There is a new undergraduate general business program in one of the statutory colleges at Cornell (SUNY tuition). Check it out.

Just to add a bit of info on the Cornell program. It is referred to as AEM (Applied economics Management???). It is in the Agriculture and Life Science school --CALS-- . And the tuition is less for NYS residents but not the same as SUNY tuition. My d is in the ILR school and her tuition is around $17,000. It's more than Suny Tuition but still a bargain in comparison to other schools. I understand AEM is very competitive. Your SAT scores are great, but class rank and grades may be a bit on the low side for the AEM program. Though I am not too knowledgeable about business programs, I would think both Boston U and Boston College would have programs meeting your needs. I can tell you that Boston U. is pretty generous with merit awards and a high SAT score like yours may help you get a merit award. Good luck.

Since you have U of Colorado on your list, I'd recommend you also take a look at the University of Denver. It has an excellent business school and, of course, is close to the slopes. It would be a match/safety for you, with the possibility of some merit money.

Boston U
Boston Coll
U Vermont

NYU is the best business school out of the ones you listed. Your SAT is okay, your gpa is low, but being a legacy will clearly help you...so you have a decent shot.

You should not have any problems getting into the other schools on your list. If you get the gpa up, other schools you might want to check out: UPenn, MIT Sloan, and Cornell.

Definitely not U Vermont as ukev said, don't waste the application money. That school is horrible and you have very high SAT scores and good grades.

Babson and Holy Cross have 2 strong academic reputations for business-much better than BC and BU.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will also submit an intel project in math which will hopefully help me. Any other advice on how to improve? I am working on a 4.0 this term of junior year

Tufts is an excellent medium sized university that will give you a broad education that will serve you well as a well rounded student when applying to graduate schools.
