varies from 2-4. sometimes 5. but depends on how many tests i have the next day, or if the teachers load a bunch of homework on us. and i can't forget the distractions. if i get distracted, it takes me forever to finish homework.

wow, i'm a senior this year in full IB and last year I don't think I ever had more than 2 hours per night unless I had a paper or test the next day. BUT, at my school we have block scheduling so I have 4 blocks every other day, so I think that helps with the nighty hw load. I also have a free block every other day this year which def. helps and sometimes i do hw during lunch. if you manage your time well, you can get a lot of hw done at school.

2 hours usually sometimes 3 if I have several test the next day. Takin 4 APs so I assume its expected.

last year it ranged from 1-5 hours on normal nights (b/c my apush teacher is weird) and up to 10 if big projects were due. i had two nights where i worked until like 230 am. i skipped a block those nights...

this year its more consistent. 3-6 hours and up to 8 if a paper or proj is due. good thing i dont have to study usually. although i might tonight for my calc test tomorrow

Some of you that are doing around 1 hour of homeowrk a day must have really easy classes.

^^^ or some of u doing more than a million hours have no life

coughmasterouscough

4-5?????
Are you guys in like boarding schools, advanced programs etc.???
If i work fast I only have like 45 minutes an hour of homework.

They're CC'ers. They are overachieving, hard-working teenagers trying to get into Ivies (or the like). I agree that it's probably too much, but it's what's expected of you.

im in 4 APs, and 2 other advanced classes. i only have a lunch period every other day, and it is 2 early in the day. also, most of my hw is from textbooks, which i keep at home, which is why i cant finish much in school

2 years ago, it was SOOO much easier

Senior here...in both junior and senior classes this year. I spend about 5 hours nightly.

Thanks AP US History...

I'm a Sophomore, but the teachers have been piling up the work for this Pre-IB program. I'd say I'm doing 4-5 hours a night as well, as are most of my peers.

From 2-5 hours on Major Projects, Thesis, etc... 6+ .....

It depinds because usually I get sidetracked by other things too.

english: 1/2 hr.
math: 1 hr.
apush: 1-2 hrs.
apbio: 1-2 hrs.
sports medicine:1-2 hrs. but sometimes we have to go to away games and we dont get home until past midnight.

it adds up.

I'm a junior and have between 0-2 hours each night.

3 APs, 4 Honors Classes, and Gym.

1-2 hrs a day on average. more if there is an essay or project or a big test ... but for those of you that study consistantly for 5 hours ... wow. Maybe you should be more efficient.

6 AP/honors classes

1 hour a night max

the key to doing this is that you must do your homework the period before it's due (so 1st period you do the night before), and then you do 2nd period's hw during 1st period - giving you all the time you want to screw around after school

and yes, i have a 4.0

at my school 4-5 hours is definatley not expected...I'm considered a very hard working student.

I probably work harder than I have to because I hate turning something in knowing that I could have done it better, and I hate turning something in when it looks like crap. I also have probably the toughest course load of anybody in any of the classes in my school... and that's even if I weren't doing a challenging independent study world literature course and teaching myself Norwegian on the side.

Today I was home sick and spend basically from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM doing homework, plus some time spent spacing out because I'm sick and some time on college/scholarship applications. Of course, it wouldn't have taken me so much time if I hadn't been sick. I still have another hour or so on reading. I should do that, actually, instead of being on CC. :o  Sometimes I hate the internet with a passionate fury. :-/

But normally I spend about 4-5 hours a night on homework. Sometimes three. A night with only two hours of homework is like, "Geez, what do I do with myself now?" :p

I should be spending 3 -4 hours average with two APs, two honors, two required classes. I actually spend 2 - 3 hours and don't learn all the information thoroughly (although I can usually scrape by staying in the A - range).

6 hours plus...
most hours spent on AP USH. :/
