Well the title says it all lol.

Well, I haven’t taken the PSAT yet, but I will be in a few days.

But I’ve went from a 1760 SAT to a 2300+.

How did you manage to do that?

Yo, how did you do that?

seriously!?

Cheating. 10char

guys just post scores lol…

Sophomore PSAT: 197
Junior PSAT: 219
SAT: 2150
ACT: 34

I’ve only taken the real SAT once because my ACT scores are so much higher.

Soph PSAT: 184
Junior PSAT: 202
SAT: 2240

“I’ve went from…”

I would guess your improvement was not in writing.

Junior PSAT: 228 (80M, 80CR, 68W)
Junior SAT: 2340 (780M, 760CR, 800W)
Senior SAT: 2330 (790M, 740CR, 800W)

I could never actually pwn CR and Math again :P

^what I don’t get is why you took yet another SAT after getting a 2340 :O

grats on that score

I wanted a 2400, but I must’ve been having a bad day or something.

My D:
8th grade SAT (through a special program) (670, 660, 630)
10th grade PSAT (didn’t take…school didn’t say it was important!)
11th grade PSAT 221
11th grade SAT 2210
ACT 34

Re: retaking as a senior…and you see someone above who went DOWN…when my D got her score report from 11th grade it said that MOST kids who had her scores did go DOWN if they retook it as a senior. So she took the ACT instead. Just FYI

D:

10th grade PSAT: 185
11th grade PSAT: 230
11th SAT: 2240

One of my friend got an amazing 238 in Junior PSAT, but only 2230 in SAT a mere one month after. That scared me so much. Now you guys had reassured me that it was just an exception…

9th PSAT: 180
10th PSAT: 200
11th PSAT: 203 (met the cutoff for my state)

Current highest SAT: 2100
Current highest ACT: 33

PSAT: 78 CR + 75 M + 62! W = 216 Total
SAT: 740 CR + 720 M + 730 W = 2190 Total

I took them again, but the scores above were from a month or so after the PSAT. The totals were close but the subscores were messed up.

“I would guess your improvement was not in writing.”

Haha. Well it happens to be probably my weakest section, but really…

You think my presumably bad writing skills would manifest themselves in the SAT writing test?

I don’t think so. Think of it in terms of studying rather than improving writing.

To those who are curious, it really boils down to mentality in my opinion. Much depends on psychological factors and essentially luck…sorry to tell. I could elaborate on what I think of the test, but basically, I think it really is possible for people to improve their score 300+ if they do everything “right”, whatever that means. Independent study, of course, cause that would imply strong desire anyway, which is also key in my opinion. Strong desire not only to do well, but to study well and analyze well.

To add, I changed my whole perspective from my first test to my second one, which is definitely crucial. Everything kinda changed. Oh yeah, and remember the first time was in my sophomore year, and I’ve improved just in everyday school since then. So you could look at it as a 300 score gain rather than a 500.

S’s scores in high school (he also took the SAT in 7th and 8th grade):
Freshman PSAT: 231
Sophomore PSAT: 223
Sophomore SAT: 2350

And that’s it; he’s done!
