I just got my first semester grades.. and OMG i'm failing junior year..

My course load & grades:
AP USH: A-
AP BIO: D+
Japanese 3HO: B
HO ENG 11: B
Orchestra (HO): A
Trig/Math 4: A

I know my course load isn't that crazzy or rigorous? but i know i can get my english and japanese grade up.. but i'm so worried about my bio bringing my gpa wayy down.. i can't guarantee that i'll do better second semester.. should I just drop it second semester before it becomes a withdrawal fail (WF) and take another semester class like physiology or anatomy and then take bio again at community college over summer?

my ap bio is the hardest class in the schooL. i was doing okay at the beginning but it slowly started going downhill and by that time it was too late to drop. I was also wondering if taking it at community college do i still need to take the ap exam?

Drop. It’ll hurt you so much. You sound like you’re seriously struggling with the material (it’s not a slacking-off issue). If you stay in there’s pressure to do well to make up for it on your transcript (say like sooting for a C+ or B-) which is going to adversely affect your performance on other classes and stress you out to an unbelievable degree.

As for the community-college question, I don’t know.

For the record, AP Biology is a horrible class, coming from someone who got an A in it. It’s pure rote memorization. If you’re not good at that sort of thing, then drop it. You’d be better off taking it a community college, where it will (likely) be more hands on and applied knowledge as opposed to a prep class for a horribly designed AP test.

@ BigKev
so do you recommend to just take it in college rather than in high school? I think my teacher is just ridiculously hard, and he says he does this so we can score well on the ap exam. If I take it in a community college would i need to take the AP exam to get credit?
