I'm taking 4 APs so it seems reasonably difficult but when I look at my potential schedule
AP Calc AB
AP Psychology
AP Comp Sci
AP Biology/AP Physics 1
H US History
H/Reg English

I feel like my sophomore schedule is harder than this. What are your thoughts?

Is this for Junior Year? Before you take AP’s make sure your colleges you might want to go to actually recognize them and will give you credit. It all looks fine to me other than that! (Of course I’ve mentioned this a couple of times in other discussions: I’ve heard from multiple people that AP Psych is a “joke” to most colleges…sorry!) It’s your course, though, so do what you want to do and take what you are interested in. Good Luck!

I think your schedule should be what you want, not what is hardest. However, if you want to know, I would say it is pretty hard. This is coming from a Freshman so, not too too reliable but I still think it is a hard schedule. All AP and Honors=great

Some top schools don’t give credit for any AP tests, but if you want to get into those schools you still need to take the most challenging classes available, which in most cases means taking AP classes. AP Psychology is considered one of the easier AP classes/tests, but it’s still an AP class and better than a regular elective.

If you want your schedule to be more challenging, take AP Calculus BC and an AP English class.

I would definitely take Honors English, and maybe try out APUSH? I heard it’s just a lot of reading, and if you find it too difficult, you can just drop out. =) I’m thinking of taking AP Psych too, although I hear it’s pretty easy. So, you’d probably still have the time to take APUSH.

^ agreed. Even if this schedule does become too easy for your abilities, it’s still extremely challenging for 99% of high school students. The extra time you would have could be dedicated to sports/volunteering/job/self-studying.

I would try testing APUSH but if I do drop it I’d have to go to Regular us history. For some reason my school wants to discourage dropping APs.

Dropping AP’s is NOT a good idea. I’m pretty sure that colleges see that you dropped if you dropped classes. When you enroll in a class, stick with it until the end or don’t take it at all. All or nothing. Don’t try to take the easy way out by enrolling in APUSH and then, dropping it because it’s too hard. This is just my opinion so you don’t have to listen to it but, my advice will help you.

AP Psych, Honors USH and AP Comp Sci are very easy
AP Calc AB is pretty easy considering I’m taking AP Calc A this semester
CP English is easy if I decide to go that route but if I take honors that and the AP science would be my only challenging classes.

I currently take 4 APs and one honors+ reg. Precalculus. It’s torture trying to handle all these APs. Make sure you don’t take an overwhelming workload. It’s only gonna come and bite you in the ass

Why not take apcalc bc? If your teacher is great, it’s a good option. My girls took APUSH, apcalc bc, ap English and ap chem, honors French, choir and reg physics their jnr year. Played a v sport, were in 2 show choirs and perf in a number of musicals. Killer schedule but they survived. I wouldn’t recommend it tho. Your sched is rigorous.
