Junior Statesmen of America Summer Program. Is it worth it?

Is 4k dollars really worth it just to go there for 1 month and take a class? I mean I wanna go but it's a lot of money. Are the classes there really worth it?

And also, how hard is it to get accepted? Do they look more at your essay or your grades? I wrote an essay already but I don't think it's too good..

I went to JSA Yale last summer and my verdict is this: if you're looking for a program that is uber-prestigious and will help you get into Harvard, this isn't it. There's a wide range of students, from the shockingly ignorant to the truly brilliant. However, you do have a lot of fun, and make sure you take one of the advanced classes; they tend to have better kids.

Oh, and the acceptance rate is pretty high - something like 50%, so if you have decent stats and a coherent essay, you should be set
