Junior Statesmen Summer School

Has anyone every gone to JSA summer school?
If so, what activities and stuff are offered? I already know it’s a lot of work.

What are my chances of being accepted?
Roughly what % of applicants do they accept?

im trying to apply to that too

me too, espically to the princeton one...any alumi?

yeah im prolly gonna do Princeton as well
any one know what the acceptance rates are???

i woiuld imagine the Georgetown ones are more selective than the other campuses

I applied and was accepted to the Yale one. Anyone else?

Is it too late to apply now?

From my understanding, you can continue to apply up until the few weeks before. So, if you'd like to go, I would say, "go ahead and apply!" Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not quite sure when the deadline is but I'm sure it's quite a way off. You should be safe to send in the application materials...

I got into the one at Princeton!

do u need to send in ur SAT/PSAT scores with ur stuff??? also, is it okay if WE send out transcipt with our app instead of making our school send it seperately?

no your school has to send it, sorry

are u serious? i just got my transcript from my school..***

are you sure? cuz im not sure if my school will send a transcript...i had a tough enuff time having them make me one

no ur right harvard2727...i called JSS today nd u have to have ur school send it OR the school has to provide u with the transcript in a sealed envelope...

just a word of advice: the transcripts take foreverr to reach jsa
i requested my transcript on feb. 17
jsa didnt get mine until 3/5

but jsa replies quickly. they got my trans. on 3/5i got my acceptance letter on 3/6

I would say they accept about half of those who apply, and Im sure the Georgetown program is a little less. However, the pool who applies tends to be fairly self-selective. Not many people are excited about spending 4 weeks studying politics and have no interest in it.
I did the program at Princeton in 2003 and in 2005, and I would defintely recommend it to anyone interested. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me for my email/AIM.

smdr -i sent my school transcript in a sealed envelope alojng with my application materials and i got in. so yes, YOU can send it.

how are you guys paying for it?

i got some scholarship money from the program itself. My parents are paying for a little, all the money i've saved up is going towards it, and im going to look into doing some fundraising as well.
