I was wondering what schools I would have a chance at being accepted to as a computer science major.

I currently have a 3.80 gpa and am involved in intramural sports, a fraternity, Engineering w/o borders and some community service tutoring. I was wondering if I have a decent chance at being accepted to

-Northwestern University
-UC Berkley
-UPenn
-Cornell
-Brown

Thanks

I transfered from USC to Yale as a Junior. I had a 4.0, but with a 3.8 that is close enough. I can’t say what your chances are, and to be honest nobody can, but if you have shown leadership/meaningful involvement at USC then it all comes down to your essays and your REASONS for wanting to transfer. It’s not enough to say that you’re unhappy; list specific reasons why the school you are applying to can offer you something that USC (or another school) cannot, and why that ‘something’ is important for your academic goals. Also, make sure not to focus too much on the negatives on USC, but rather on what you gained from your experience and why you are seeking more.

Also, as a side note, Brown is not need-blind, so that school at least (unsure about the others) will factor your financial need into whether or not you are admitted.

Good luck!
