Hi, I'm currently about to be a sophomore. I am fully admitted to Miami of Ohio's Farmer school of business. My college career has been a bumpy one; I spent my first semester at UT Austin before transferring back home. I've finally come to realize what I want for my future, and have decided I definitely want to transfer to a "target school" my junior year in order to give me more opportunities with internships, recruitment, etc...

HS GPA: 3.9
ACT Score: 33
7 AP's: All 4's
Sat Math II: 720
HS EC's: lots of leadership roles and involvement with varsity sports

College (UT Austin) GPA: 3.7
College (Miami) GPA: 3.8
I'm in the Farmer's Business School Honors program double majoring in finance and accounting. I am involved in a fraternity/different clubs on campus.

Is there any chance me being able to transfer into schools such as Cornell AEM/NYU Stern/Duke/Penn Wharton? And if so, what steps do I need to take to improve my chances?

Hey im a junior in hs but i know ALOT about banking/hedge funds/private equity. Well, if you want to break into banking(and move on to PE/HF after 2 years) you’ll need to go to a relevant(target) school. Your stats in hs and college are great and you should be able to transfer into some of the target schools. If you want to break into banking on Wall street NYC, you’ll need to go to one of these schools if you want a legit chance:
Harvard
Wharton
Princeton
Stanford
Dartmouth
Columbia
Duke
Yale
NYU
Northwestern(mainly for chicago banks)
MIT
Ucalifornia;Berkeley
UMich
U of Texas(Austin)
One more thing, it will be nearly impossible to jump into PE/HF right out of undergrad. They only take about 20 kids in TOTAL each year and they’re mainly from Harvard, Wharton and Princeton and they usually have some NICE connections.
If you want m ore info about this, visit [WallStreetOasis.com | Your Finance Community. Advice on Finance Interviews and Careers in Finance.](http://Wallstreetoasis.com) its a forum just like this but its mainly for people who work on wall street and there are some college students there and the bankers answer questions

Thanks so much! I have one quick question about UT Austin. How does Texas compare relatively to these other “target schools?” I haven’t heard much about them being heavily recruited by the big players for IB. If UT is a viable option I could easily re-enroll in Austin seeing I was already a student there.
