Junior trying to finalize college list! Help!

Hey everyone, I’m a HS junior getting anxious about college visits and narrowing down the colleges I have a chance at. Right now, UCLA is my dream school, and probably a high high reach. Other schools I’m looking at are UCSD, UCSB, San Diego State, UT Austin, Boston University and Temple University. Also, art is one of my major interests, so art schools like MICA and RISD are on my list. (I went to MICA for precollege this summer, and earned $12,000 in scholarship if I were to apply and be accepted.) Here are my stats so far:
SAT: 1330, but will be retaking
SAT II: 660 on Bio Molecular, but probably won’t be sending this anywhere
GPA: 4.2 weighted, 4.0 unweighted. But my school uses a 4.5 scaling system. I’ve made honor roll every semester.
My UC GPA is 3.82 unweighted, 4.0 weighted
APs: I took AP Euro last year, and got a 4. This year I am in APUSH, AP Art, and AP Lang & Comp. Planning on taking many APs senior year.
Honors: Honors Spanish last year and this year, plus an honorable mention on the National Spanish Exam. Honors Bio freshman year
ECs/Awards: Debate for 2 years, went to state competitions and won some awards. Started Model UN this year. GSA for 3 years, Social Studies, Spanish, and Art honors societies this year. I have volunteered for WINS for two years (a tutoring program for younger students). I was also chosen by my art teacher to have work exhibited at NYSATA (only a few students are chosen every year). Have won various other art awards as well

I know its a bit early to predict my chances, but any help/other school recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What is your financial situation? I’m
Not sure why you’d consider OOS publics like UT unless money doesn’t matter at all.

UCLA might be a little hard with that SAT, but what is your major? If you are doing engineering or STEM you will need some math subject tests and a higher SAT for UCLA. The out of state universities may be harder, especially UT because it is much harder to get in OOT than in state. It all depends on your major tho.

Some UC statistical data to help gauge your chances. You want to be at or above the averages for the best chances at any of the UC’s.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:

UCB: 12.6%
UCLA: 11.7%
UCSD: 38.7%
UCSB: 53.6%
UCD: 56.5%
UCI: 52.1%
UCSC: 75.7%
UCR: 90.1%

2018 UC capped weighted GPA averages:
UCB: 4.23
UCLA: 4.23
UCSD: 4.16
UCSB: 4.13
UCI: 4.13
UCD: 4.11
UCSC: 3.96
UCR: 3.81
UCM: 3.71

2018 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:

UCB: 1360-1540

UCLA: 1340-1540
UCSD: 1300-1520
UCSB: 1270-1500
UCD: 1220-1480
UCI: 1230-1490
UCSC: 1210-1450
UCR: 1130-1380
UCM: 1020-1280

Do you live in CA? If not, UC’s are like 65k for OOS. Just something to consider. UCLA may be a little bit of a stretch.

Are you in NY? It might be worth looking at RIT. They have a school of art and design and you can cross over into the other schools for double and triple majors in other disciplines.

SCAD in Savannah

University of the Arts in Philadelphia

MICA in Maryland? They just added some cool new graduate programs. Worth a look.

Ask your parents what their yearly budget from savings and current income only they can spend for your college.
Then run the NPCs to see if your net costs match this offer.
Do you live in California (UC’s)?
Based on your interests and current grades/scores, I’d apply to UCSC. As art is important to you, I’m sure you would like it, it’s quite artsy.
