basically i'm very confused on which college i could even get in to with my bad GPA, my plans were to go in to medicine but i'm changing my mind pretty fast, any advice?

...
...
...

Which colleges do you want to be chanced for exactly?
(see, this is why juniors are discouraged from being chanced)

sorry, i guess its too early to be chanced if you dont have anything to chance, i'm just wondering what college at all i could possibly get in to with such a low GPA.

uh, quite a few actually. almost any in-state school (not counting Uchicago and Northwestern, since you're in IL) will take those numbers. also, there are a good deal of second- and third-tier private schools that would take you.

this would be much more constructive if you gave us some schools you wanted to go to, or if you gave us your interests and asked which schools would be good for you.

i've been aiming towards premed, i'm not positive yet. i've looked in to U of I and i have a shot at st. louis university honors med program because of my ACT, but its a huge stretch

how do you have a 5.12 GPA, the highest you can get is a 5.0 (which is impossible), other than that you look like you are building a good resume. i'm sure lots of in state schools will accept you and many out of states too. i'm in cali, so i cannot name specific colleges for you, sorry. good luck.

Okay, so here's a quick summary of what you've said so far:
You are from Illinois
You want to go pre-med, so that means you probably want to major in biology or chemistry
Your current UW GPA is 3.2 and you've only taken one AP course so far.
You're taking 4 APs currently as a junior
You seem to want to look first at in-state schools (like UIUC or St. Louis University) first
You rank in the top 25% of your class, but not the top 10%

In-state schools:
Northwestern University--Reach
University of Chicago--Reach
University of Illinois--Slight Reach to Reach
St. Louis University--Match
DePaul--Match
Illinois Wesleyan--Slight Reach
Bradley University--Match
Elmhurst College--Safe Match
Southern Illinois--Match

Best of these for biology/chemistry that you can get into are probably St. Louis Univ, Bradley or DePaul.

Other close by schools that you could possibly get into with your stats are:
Purdue Univ
Indiana Univ at Bloomington
Ohio State
Michigan State
Univ of Missouri
and Univ of Minnesota

The best of these for medical school is probably Ohio State, followed by Univ of Minnesota and Purdue;--but all are great schools. (And be aware that not all medical schools offer pharmacy programs, if that is your interest).

Good luck.

pharmacy's not my interest at all, but that helps a LOT, thanks so much

sdchargers--our gpa scale for weighted is out of 6 if your taking all honors and ap. my 5.12 shows that i've gotten mostly B's, some As, and 2 Cs.
