Bumppppppp

I’d highly suggest that you raise your SAT score to be competitive. Make sure to bring up your Writing score in particular. Your SAT II scores are solid, but as far as grades go they’re a little iffy for many of the Ivies. The C you got in the first semester of Physics B sophomore year will hurt you, but you have a nice AP score to help make up for it, which is good.

With that said, your EC’s are pretty solid too, although there’s nothing about them that makes you stand out. Your passions seem to lie in music, however, so try and see if you can audition for the All-State Band or something along those lines. Participate in festivals; the fact that the French horn isn’t a common instrument will help your chances at gaining recognition.

Keep up the great grades so far! An upward trend will definitely be noticed, so best of luck! :D

epic bump,

I’ve changed my list of schools:
College of William and Mary
New York University
Union College
UCI
UCLA
UCSD
USC

Desired Major:
Neuroscience (still)

any response on my chances is much appreciated, =].

Good Fit: UCI, UCSD
Low Reach: William & Mary, NYU
Mid Reach: UCLA, USC

If you want to secure your chances for the Low Reach and Mid Reach schools, get your SAT score to a 2100+ and write really good essays. If you do that, I think you’ve got great chances for all schools. With all your current stats, I’d say you’re probably in at UCI and UCSD, most likely in at W&M and NYU, and maybe in at UCLA and USC.
