I just ended my first semester of junior year and I did relatively bad compared to my freshman and sophomore years I was dealing with depression and I just let my grades slip so even though I got them up higher at the end it was too late.
Here is what I have (my school doesn’t do plus or minus on grades but just for reference)
AP Physics- B (80%)
High Honors Pre Calc- B (89%)
Honors Spanish 4- B (most likely, could be an A)
AP US History- B (88%)
AP Lang and Comp- A (97% in this class, why can’t I just transfer over to the other classes :()
Journalism- A
Leaders PE- A
ACT SCORE (1st time I took it)- 33
Do I still have hope for colleges such as NYU? I have a lot of extra curriculars too but I’m just so worried about these grades.
Try not to worry about this. I know it might seem bad, but colleges do like to see an upward trend in grades. If you believe in yourself and put a good amount of time/work ethic/focus into your studies, then you’ll improve and be fine.
I know exactly how that feels. I used to be an As and B student until Junior year started last year. Now I cry when I see my C in AP Language. You are actually doing a lot better than me when I first started. I had no As and it felt terrible. Now I’m in the middle of the year and I have one A (yay?) and it gives such a moral boost. Junior year is supposed to be your hardest year. It makes you feel inferior (hence the name junior) but if you can pull through it, senior year is just on the horizon. And yes, you still have a chance at NYU in my opinion.
