<p>I hear that almost 30% of the junior class does fall semester abroad. What do they do for housing? If they arrange housing for the year and try to sublet, who will be there to sublet to?</p>
<p>They sublet to sophomores and seniors- or get stuck paying for an empty room or apartment. My son told me about someone who is paying for one of the more expensive off-campus residences for a whole year while she is abroad (not the Radian- one of the ones where you practically have to have the apartment willed down to you by a sorority sister etc) just so she can have it for senior year.</p>
<p>It’s not really 30% of the class that goes abroad in the fall - I’d say it’s more like 30% at some point, so at any given time there aren’t quite THAT many people abroad, and someone going abroad usually sublets to someone who will be abroad in the other semester.</p>
