JUNIOR YEAR, advice ?

AHH, so clearly as you guys can tell, I'm currently a junior. This school year I transferred to a different, more competitive high school, and now I'm freaking out.

I'm on my school's tennis team, so at the beginning of this entire school year, I was busy with staying after school for practice, games, etc. and I ALWAYS got home late. so late, i would barely even have enough time to finish my homework. I have a 3.8 GPA, but my grades right now aren't looking so promising that it'll stay like that. I really don't know why I chose to take APUSH when history is my weakest subject, but for some reason I just did. And adding on to that, since I transferred, I missed out on the summer assignments that were given out before school ended last school year, which i then had to make up, which THEN led up to me lagging/ falling behind in my classes.

I'm just really stressed out over this right now. First semester is going to end soon, and grades are due by the 1st of February. It may seem like a long time from now, but it really isn't. I just, this is just messing me up. I feel like I made a mistake overloading myself with classes. My teachers are always giving me a hard time, and they don't even seem to understand my situation. I've been losing hours of sleep and not eating lately .. I just wish I could get back on track.

ANYWAY, here's my current standing:

APES: B (80.18%; class is simple, other classes are making me lag on it though)

APUSH: D (66.02%; need at least a 68% or higher for a C)

Honors Pre-Calculus: D (64.17%; didn't turn in homework/ score high on tests)

AP English Language: C (73.45%; didn't get to read assigned summer reading book, failed test based on the book with a 52%)

Let me know what you guys think I should plan on doing and whether or not you think I can still get the majority back to A's. APUSH is my hardest class. We have daily quizzes based on reading , and I can't seem to be able to memorize any of the content... jdfkljsadk . >__<

Hey.

If you are constantly performing poorly on APUSH daily quizzes, then either find a better way to capture the material or I would drop the class and take an honors if there is one. It would save you a D and would probably give you more time to do well on other subjects. Try to do precalc HW regularly. And talk to your teacher about the Lang summer reading test. Be kind and polite, show a genuine desire to want a good grade when asking and if your teacher isn’t evil, something good should come out of it. Try not to be hung up on bad grades if you know you did what you could. I got a D+ in math this first quarter but my teacher will make is into C- without asking for a chance to receive a higher grade, the bump wouldn’t have occurred. My goal is to have A’s on math the rest of the year now to end with A- average. Good luck, its tough out there, some of us have it harder than others, but we can get through it.

I would switch to Honors US History, but it’s too late. Plus, my school in general is very unflexible with letting students drop APs, especially since it’s a competitive school and has a high reputation. Plus, I actually did approach my AP Lang teacher regarding my low score on the test, but she actually told me that I can only have the points that I earned and that she has nothing else to say to me about what I can do to raise my grade -___-

Just quit tennis if you can’t handle all the pressure. I mean school work comes first right? And maybe just join a spring sport when things settle down if your worrying about filling the extracurricular. And on tge weekends get all your studying and homework done. Just relax, don’t over complicate it.
