Hey guys so im a rising junior and im taking the following APs:
AP Environmental Science
AP Chem
AP Calc BC
AP English Language and Composition
AP World History
How should I prepare for each of these AP exams, any tips, and what prep books should I use for each of these? Thanks in advance guys!
I’m a senior with AP experience so I think I may be able to help! I’m going to be a senior this year, hence the name lol. I’ve taken 7 AP classes in my hs career (5 junior year- AP Psych, AP Stats, AP Art History, AP Bio, AP Language and Composition), and I plan to take 4 more this year. Each year I studied differently but I found that despite the amount of AP classes I took this year, I did better overall than years prior to my junior year.
Here’s a list of things I recommend to do well in your classes:
-Buy the AP Prep books at the beginning of the year and go through them as your teacher teaches each section. TRUST ME, I wish I had done that!
-Majority of the 5 steps to a 5 books were helpful to me. Since you’re taking AP Lang, I can tell you that the 5 steps to a 5 book for this one wasn’t that helpful, nor are most prep books for this AP class.
-Don’t study at the last minute! Study a little throughout the year.
-Make flashcards throughout the year so you can study at the end of the year.
-Look up past years exams as well as practice questions some websites offer.
-Study with some friends from your class to get a better understanding of everything!
These are just a few things I did this past year for my exams and I’d say it was pretty helpful! You got a long time away so just figure out what works for you as the school year progresses. Hope this helps!
