Hello everyone, I’m thinking about my classes for the upcoming (junior) year. Junior year has a reputation for being very demanding at my school, and the program I’m in forces my core classes to be AP. I’m allotted three electives, and I’m trying to decide on my third one. I want to do something I’m interested in, while also making sure that I’m not overloaded. Thankfully my EC’s are not as demanding as other people I know.
AP English Language & Composition
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics 1
AP United States History
AP Computer Science (Elective)
Spanish III Honors (Elective)
Possibilities:
Accounting & Finance I (In a business club and may want to gauge my interest)
AP Seminar (Not that interested, but it may look good to college?)
AP Music Theory (5 years piano/3 years cello experience)
AP Micro/Macro Economics (Same as accounting & finance)
If anyone has had experience with any of these classes any advice would be appreciated.
APUSH is considered the hardest AP.
From your elective possibilities, I would go either with AP Seminar or AP micro/macro economics. I mean, your schedule is crazy rigorous already, but if you want to gauge your interest in finance econ would be a decent intro.
Yeah, I’ve heard from other students that it has a heavy workload, but unfortunately, I am required to take it at the AP level.
It seems like an overloaded schedule. I would narrow down to only AP micro/macro. AP seminar seems useless.
Also forgot to mention but I’m probably going to take the electives on my list not taken during junior year during senior year (AP Seminar excluded), so I’m trying to see what would be the best choice as senior year may be a better time to include a harder elective.
AP English Language & Composition — lots of book reading and essay writing.
AP Calculus BC — when I took this exam there were like, 6 questions that were actually from Calculus BC and the rest are from Calculus AB
AP Physics 1 — meh.
AP United States History – bunch of history stuff
AP Micro/Macro Economics – This can be boring since it’s basically an introduction class but if you learn the material it’s really not that bad
Thanks for the input everyone. Does anyone have experience taking an accounting class (encouraged by mom) in high school or AP Music Theory?
