Junior Year Class Schedule

these are my courses for my upcoming junior year

Marine Science 2 Honors
College Readiness Math
AP Psych
AP Lang
American Lit Honors
Sociology Hon/Ethics Hon
US History Honors

Foreign language?

I already have my 2 required foreign language courses, my family speaks Spanish at home + I’m studying abroad in Spain next summer to achieve fluency via immersion. I’m also looking into taking an introductory/intermediate Spanish class for dual enrollment, sign up is in November

What is your intended major?

Just curious, what level math is college readiness math equivalent too? Alg1, Geometry, Alg2, etc. ?

1° Take the Spanish Subject test in November (it includes listening) and register for AP Spanish language for May. This way you will really have proof of language fluency.
2° What kinds of colleges are you aiming for? What possible majors?
3° What’s your current GPA (unweighted)?

Right now, imagining you’re aiming for a college that’s ranked 40-125 plus your flagship, this would be basic comments, but they’d be more personalized with the above information:
Marine Science 2 Honors => have you taken Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, and Physics (honors or not)? Take those before Marine Science.
College Readiness Math => have you taken algebra1+2, geometry, and precalculus or integrated math 1,2?3? If not, take the next class in the sequence
AP Psych
AP Lang
American Lit Honors
Sociology Hon/Ethics Hon
US History Honors => why not APUSH?

My counselors will not let me overwhelm myself with more than 2 AP classes at the moment, which bums me out. Current unweighted: 3.0. Since I did poorly in a Algebra 2, they put me in an easier math. I’m not fluent in Spanish and I’m not good at it so I might wait on Senior year to take the Subject test. Majoring in something artsy (I don’t really know yet lol something with writing) and I want to go to liberal arts colleges, would you recommend any? I will also be involved with some EC clubs!

It’s after Alg 2- instead of Pre-Calc, Stats, college readiness is math for people who aren’t good. It’s like SAT math basically.

I don’t have an intended major yet

You can sit the external AP exam without taking the course.

my replies keep getting lost lol

If you’re not good at Spanish take Spanish 3 honors in addition to these classes or switch out either American lit honors or the sociology/ethics combination.

Maybe take APUSH instead of AP Psych
