Hi! This is my first time posting on this website, and I need some advice about what classes to take my junior year. I’m currently a sophomore who would like to major in something related to Computer Science.
This is an idea of what I am planning to take:
AP Statistics
AP English III
AP Physics
Honors PreCal
US History
French II
Computer Science I
Girls’ Volleyball
However, I’m unsure if I should take an AP science class. Would it be necessary for my career?
Also, I’m unsure whether or not I should take APUSH. If I did, then I’d be taking 4 AP classes in addition to a sport.
Another factor is that I may be moving to a new school, which may only have 6 or 7 classes. If I moved, should I take AP Statistics senior year instead to make available space?
Thank you!
An AP course in science is often seen highly, especially if you want to major in CS. As for 4 AP classes, do you think that you will be able to handle the workload? It’s possible, but the experience may be different from person to person. Remember that although it’s good to challenge yourself and take many advanced courses, it’s also important to do well in those classes.
Also, what AP exam does AP English III refer to? AP Language or AP Literature?
I think it would be best if I stuck with 3 AP classes. Would it be better to take APUSH in high school?
However, I heard from a friend that you don’t have to take general ed classes in college if you know what you want to do for your career. He informed me that his friend attends UC Davis and didn’t have to take general ed, which I’m confused about.
AP English III is what’s offered at my school; it’s not called AP Lang or AP Lit.

Rather than listening to someone who has friends who may or may not have said x or z, use your search engine and check
If you moved, you wouldn’t take AP Statistics senior year, you’d take calculus.
You can take another AP history class in 12th grade.
What type of colleges are you aiming for?
