Junior Year Course Selection (APs)

Hi, I’m having a little trouble deciding what to take next year with APs and was curious as to what you think

This year
Geometry - B+
Biology Honors - B
English Honors - A/A-
Algebra Honors - A
Spanish IV - A-
AP Euro - A-

I really like and am good at math, social studies and English, so I’m torn with the course load.

Next Year ???
Honors PreCalc (I really am set on taking honors)
Chemistry Honors (I hate bio, but I like math, so maybe I’ll do better in chem?)
English Honors or AP Lit
Spanish V (I don’t want to move up to Honors because I don’t like Spanish)
APUSH (certain)
AP Gov?

I would love to take APUSH and AP Gov because I love Euro, but I’m worried that taking AP Lit would be too much because of the course load.
Just wondering what your thoughts were, if I don’t take AP Gov, and I take AP Lit, I’d probably take Intro to CompSci or Latin 2.

I would take AP Lit and not AP Gov. More important to take an AP English and AP history than two AP Histories.

You should definitely prioritize an AP English and an AP History rather than doubling up on AP History. Also, based on my own experience taking APUSH and APGOV they cover very similar content, however, APGOV is more applicable to real life situations. Hope this helps!

Ask your guidance counselor: if AP lit proved to be too much, would you be allowed to drop down to honors English? Or if you take AP gov and it’s too much with the rest of your schedule, will you be able to switch out and take another class?
Sounds like AP lit+ APUSH would be the best combination, add AP gov if you feel able to handle it considering precalculus and chem will be hard too.
