Hey guys, I’m planning on doing the following classes for junior year. I’d appreciate any feedback.
These are what I’m taking right now. I struggled in AP Computer Science, but I don’t think that will cause any problems for next year.
Honors Precalculus
Honors Chemistry
Honors English 10
AP Statistics
AP Computer Science
Spanish 3
These are what I’m planning to do next year.
AP Calc AB
Honors Physics
AP Language
AP Psychology
Honors Spanish 4 OR AP Biology
Business law/business math
If anyone has taken any of these classes, I would appreciate it if you could tell me how they went: which ones are hard, which are easy, which require more self studying, which are on the list of your life’s biggest regrets, which books would be helpful for studying, etc. At my school, AP Language and AP Biology are the harder classes. I was also wondering about Honors Physics and AP Calc AB because I’ve heard a lot of conflicting things about both. Thanks in advance!
I’m currently in AP Language. It’s my favorite AP I’ve taken! Of course, it’s a lot of essay writing, but it’s most definitely worth it. It’s helpful to get multiple different readers on your essays before submitting, and pick up a version of the AP exam prep book early, so that you can read the book once as you go along and again before the exam. It’ll help a lot. Good luck!
Both AP Bio and Psych require lots of memorization, but once you’ve got the main ideas down, they’re relatively easy. I recommend continuing Spanish if you’re currently doing well in it, as colleges like to see consistency and you’'ll already be taking Physics. Yes, taking both Physics and AP Calc may be overwhelming, BUT if you think you’ll be able to handle it, then do it. Some of my friends that are taking both say some concepts overlap, and it helps with understanding. (I wouldn’t know though, as I am not taking both.) Best wishes!
P.S. I noticed you’re taking AP Stats right now. How is it going for you? If you could offer some insight on my thread, I’d be most grateful. ^-^
AP Biology will be a good choice for you if you enjoy biology and want to learn about it. It’s a lot of memorization, reading, and notes. Definitely one of the most time consuming APs.
AP Language is not too hard, and overall a pretty good class. I felt it was a little harder than Honors Sophomore English.
