Would it be possible to get into college as a junior then use my senior year of high school as a gap year? That way I'd be guaranteed admission into my college of choice before my senior year but still be able to graduate high school and end up entering college with my class, not the following year's class...?

If you are admitted after your junior year, and chose to pursue a gap year, why would you even consider staying in high school? It would make more sense to do something non-academic for a bit, or to take advantage of a foreign exchange opportunity. There are many ways you could fill up the time if you want to start college with the group that you would have had you graduated on schedule.

That makes absolutely no sense. You’re saying that you want to “take a gap year” when really you just want to do exactly what everyone else does? Admission as a junior means you go to college as a junior, or you do a REAL gap year by traveling, working, etc. You just want to cheat the system and get early college acceptance. I doubt any college would admit you when your gap year will be high school…

Think of the Senioritis…

Okay, now I just feel crazy for even considering doing something like this. I guess I’ll just wait for early admission my senior year. I just wanted a little extra security…

Everyone wants to have security in life, but life doesn’t work like that, unfortunately. You can apply ED or EA next year and know by December/January.
