I'm really worried about the C I got second semester in Calc. I think the grade was given unfairly, so I'm trying to appeal it, but I'm preparing myself in case I have to live with the C. Am I overreacting, or will this really hurt me in admissions. I'm getting mixed messages from people I ask, some people saying it'll really hurt and others saying its not a big deal, so I wanted to put it up on CC to see what you guys think. In case it helps, here are some schools i'm planning on applying to:

U of M
USC
Michigan State
Northwestern
Stanford
Georgetown
Johns Hopkins
Columbia

Here's my senior schedule

AP Physics C
AP Euro
AP Econ
AP Spanish 500
Orchestra
AP Eng
Indv Sports/ Web Design

Just give me your honest opinion. I'm kind of freaking out because of the things some people have said, hopefully its for naught.

Well, seeing that you got As in everything else, colleges will might assume that you had a very hard teacher…of course a C is not the best thing in the world, but I don’t think it will be a deciding factor in keeping you out of a college.

well, your senior schedule and your previous classes all look good except for calc.
i know that without a doubt, you’ll get into state. your michigan chances are pretty good as well.
however, you only posted your academic info, and not test scores and extracurriculars, so i don’t know of your chances elsewhere.

idk about stanford though. sorry. :(

If you think one B and one C out of 21 different classes is bad, your crazy. I’d actually say congratulations on your academics as a whole and that you have nothing to be worried about.
