Hello! Here’s my (kinda) finalized junior schedule.
AP Physics 1
AP Stats
AP Calc AB**
AP Lang
APUSH (currently taking AP Euro right now, it’s what sophomores usually take at my school)
Hnrs Spanish 4
Adv. debate/Psychology
**Posted a thread about this before, but I’ve consulted my GC now. My GC has notified me that I could take the AP Calc AB test, but I’m going to have to accept that score no matter what, in an effort to allow me to skip AP Calc AB. My school has an Calc AB then BC system, I do not have the ability to choose. By taking Calc BC junior year, I can take multivariable senior year.
What are your thoughts on my schedule as a whole? Any advice on if I should go on and take the AP test?
This is amazing! Good luck! It looks very hard; I probably wouldn’t be able to handle a schedule like that. About the AP test, I’d say it’s a good idea to go for it just in case there’s a chance you don’t take BC Calc.
@bopper raises a good point. Unless you plan on majoring in the STEM field or business/economics field, I think possibly switching out AP Statistics for an easier but interesting and fun course would help save you stress and possibly help your GPA.
Save AP stats for senior year.
You could take a free period because that’s a heavy schedule, especially if you jump into BC without AB. Otherwise, take a fun class with little or no homework, such as DECA, shop, culinary arts current events… Those six other classes will be tough, and you’ll have sat prep on top of that. If you end up in calc AB you have a bit more leeway wrt they 7th period. But if it were me and I were to jump into bc without ab, I’d take a late arrival or a study hall to make sure I have a cushion and protect my sleep.
