bump…

Anybody???

I think you might need one or two more APs. If you can’t fit it in you’re schedule (like me) try self-studying.

I’m taking:
AP English Comp
AP USH
AP Chem
Alg II/Trig/Pre-calc
Health (I forgot to take this as a freshman :/)
Spanish V
And something else, I can’t seem to remember right now…

anybody else?!

It looks good to me…as long as you plan to take more APs in your senior year, then it should be okay. And as long as you do well in all of them, of course!

Also, why no APUSH?

From your schedule it seems like your a math and science person. What are you thinking of majoring in? If its a STEM major, then it MIGHT be okay…but elite colleges (assuming you are referring to Ivy Leagues and Top 20 Colleges, etc.) would probably frown upon not taking AP English Language and AP US History. Also, do they offer an Honors Spanish IV class? If so, take that. Then, if your school offers AP Spanish, you can take that senior year. Just one question- if your taking AP Calc BC in junior year, what math will you be taking next year? AP Stats, or does your school offer Multivariable Calc or Linear Algebra? It wouldn’t be wise to have only 3 years of Math…

So, I’d definitely change Spanish to honors and either replace both English & US History with the AP versions, or at the least one of them. (whichever you think you’d do better in/enjoy more)

SarahLlama, I am hopefully planning to major in pre-med, the reason I didn’t take APUSH was because history is irrelevant to my interests. Also, I am not very good at English as AP Lang is a very time consuming class. Thus, I would have less time to focus on AP BIO which I value most.

And yes, Multivariable Calculus/Linear Algebra are after AP Calc BC.

Our school does not offer Honors in any of its languages. Only AP Spanish, which is recommended for senior year.

bumppppppp

Colleges don’t frown upon not taking APUSH or AP english, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard. People now are just taking AP’s to make their list longer which is ridiculous. I think your courses are great man, half these people on here just make up their own ideas of what a good schedule looks like and it’s complete crap.
What colleges are you looking to apply into?

Hopefully, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Brown, Rice, Emory, or George Washington

Still have to think and sort out which colleges I want to really attend, but Georgetown is at the top of the list for me

Really? Or were you joking?

Three APs at one time seems fine with me. (And is also how many my daughter is taking this year … plus two Honors classes).

I’d be very surprised if:

Then again, students now are a lot smarter than when I was in HS. ;)

And, as always, YMMV.

PS: How can someone’s post count be zero?

GolfFather, it is a glitch. It will update the number of posts count after a while.

I think 3 APs is definitely enough, especially with Spanish IV! That looks like a perfect Junior schedule to me, although you will probably spend a lot of time on homework because you are taking Biology and Calculus BC at the same time.

As long as you take time for ECs, I think you are good to go :)

Thanks pandemic!

I took Spanish IV (same class as AP…just different title) and I had 5 AP classes. Spanish was the first to go. Dot be like me. Continue tu educaci

Muchas gracias por tu comentario

It looks fine to me. It looks well balanced. Maybe add APUSH.

De nada. (You’re welcome). Pero tu necesitas escribir tu comentario en ingles despues tu has escrito tu comentario espa
