So as part of my district’s requirements, I have to fulfill some 9th, 10th, and 11th grade classes in pretty much one year. It happened this way because I only did electives (except for English and Chemistry) at online high school. So, here it is:
AP Lang & Comp
AP Statistics
AP US History
Biology Honors
English 10 Honors
Algebra 2 Honors
Precalc/Trig Honors
NOTE**: I have taken Algebra 2 before, but it was in a college class so it didn’t count for high school credit (I didn’t want it to). So I AM equipped with Algebra 2 knowledge, however, I do not have the credits for Algebra 2 on my transcript. That’s why I’m taking it.
Is there a question? If you work you should be able to handle it. AP Lang test is all skills based. If you can analyze literature and are good at AP english tests, you will do fine. AP Stat is not really traditional math, it is more interpreting numbers and understanding concepts.
Hmm that really seems like a lot of math. Are you sure you can’t skip alg2? My school allows it if you have high geometry grades. You also don’t have a language, did you take it already?
To lubaccounting, yes there is a question. I was just a bit ditzy and didn’t include it as I was in a rush. Sorry.
I wanted to ask if it seemed manageable, and okay for a Junior year. Basically, just your thoughts on it.
To a20171, yes it’s a lot of math, but since I didn’t do any math my sophomore year, I have to triple up on math. Yes, I already took a language.
Thanks to all!
I see your classes as overall pretty good. I heard AP statistics is not a lot of math how precalc and algebra 2 is. I’m sure your pretty fine
The only classes I’d be a bit concerned with is Precalculus and APUSH, but honestly, how difficult Precalculus turns out to be depends on your teacher. I don’t think Precalculus is that bad. APUSH was a lot of work for me, again with the teacher thing, but since that’s the only thing that really pops out to me, I think your junior year is manageable.
Thank you all for your advice!
Take Algeba 2H online over the summer (Florida Virtual School as well as many others have the course). It’ll make your year more manageable.
Why did you only take electives at your other school?
What level in a foreign language have you reached? Do you have an SAT Subject score in it (650+is good, 700+ gives you placement and often even credit!)
To MYOS1634, okay. I will see if I can take it over the summer.
I only took electives other than the 2 subjects because it just happened to be that way. I arrived late in the year, and the only classes that I could finish in a quarter were elective courses.
I am at a Spanish 3 level. I have not taken the SAT in it, I didn’t know that was possible?
Spanish Level 3 is the minimum required by selective colleges. Having one more may help, but since you have to catch up on all these core classes, it’s not a priority for this year.
If you arrived late in a year, what did you take at your previous school? Those classes would “count”. Were you homeschooled?Or are you a recent immigrant?

My current school erased those grades I earned my early sophomore year, mainly because they were all Fs because I was sick often. I’ll definitely take Spanish 3 at a later time, since like you said, I have to finish these core classes up. Thanks for the link!
