Hey, CC! It’s scheduling time, so I wanted to see if anyone had any feedback on my schedule for my junior year:
Pre-Calc
Latin II
Chinese I (I will be starting the course over the summer)
AP Spanish
AP Physics 1
AP Macro
AP Comp Gov
AP Lang
AP Euro
Does this look like it will be manageable, yet rigorous, schedule? I realize three foreign languages is a little strange, but I absolutely love them and hope to go into political science/international relations.
Thanks!
9 classes does not sound manageable. Choose between AP comp/gov and AP euro OR complete Latin 2 before you start Chinese (you don’t want to look like a quitter so you have to take Latin 2 plus hopefully you’d be able to take the subject test.)
If you love languages, have you heard of Language camps? The Middlebury intensive summer camps for high school students is very selective and very intense. Concordia language camps are fun but effective. Ole Miss and Penn State run more traditional intensive classes (4h in the morning + lots of homework, emphasis on listening/speaking and authentic materials.)
AP Comp Gov and AP Macro are both semester-long classes, and my school has 8 blocks. Still, I’ll definitely take that into consideration. I’m just hesitant to take a study hall, as I ended up with two this year. I would love to attend the Middlebury summer camp, but it’s not really financially feasible, and I don’t believe I would qualify for aid. I’ll look into the other programs you mentioned, though! Thanks!
