Junior Year Schedule

Input is appreciated!

AP Calc AB
AP Stats
AP Language and Composition
AP Bio
Honors Physics

I have other classes but they were placed on my schedule to be a more chill class. Any input regarding AP tests or the class themselves would be greatly appreciated.

I, too, wanted to take AP Calc AB and AP Stats in the same year, but I was told to avoid doing both. I would say just choose one– for example if you want to be an engineer, take AB and then senior year take BC, or maybe if you don’t do as well as you hoped in AB you can take Stats your senior year instead. AP Lang at my school is pretty easy. It’s a lot of writing and the reading passages are similar to that on the SAT. If you have a good teacher, they will be able to easily prepare you for what the Collegeboard is looking for when grading the FRQs. As for AP Bio and physics, I haven’t taken either, but I’ve heard Bio basically just memorizing processes and being able to know how concepts work. I’m sure with sufficient studying you’ll be able to get A’s in these classes no problem.

thank you for your response, my son who wrote this post said that his Stats class at the school was regarded as very easy, so I think he is going to double up

Remember that statistics is a class that should be taken in college because it should be listed as ‘relevant coursework’ regardless of internship applied for (employers couldn’t care less what you did in HS).
I’d save AP stats for senior year if he really wants to take is in preparation for college or because of GPA or ranking issues, because AP Bio+ physics + calculus is going to be rough, and AP Lang is (obviously)writing intensive.
Make sure he has foreign language level 3or 4 and a social science/history (typically Junior year is us history).
