Junior Year Scheduling...HELP!?

Hi there!

So…I am having a tremendous difficulty in the choosing of my classes for my junior year.
Here’s my present schedule and grades for first semester of sophomore year:

Honors Spanish 3- 97%
AP US History - 96%
Honors English 10- 94.5%
Writing for Publications: Newspaper- 99%
Honors Chemistry- 97.5%
Honors Algebra 2/Trig- 99.8%
Varsity Chorus- 125% (extra credit…)

Is it crucial that I take Honors Spanish 4 during my junior year, rather than doubling up on science? If I do take Spanish next year, I could take AP Spanish senior year–though, I heard the class is similar to that of Hell. I’m not scared of taking Spanish next year; however, I would rather take two science courses instead.

I have a 3.985 unweighted GPA, while I have a 4.033 weighted GPA (honors classes aren’t weighted at my school), if that helps at all.

In the future, I would like to attend a great university (top-25).

Here’s my junior year schedule without Spanish in it:

AP Calculus AB
AP English Language and Comp.
AP European History
AP Physics 1
AP Chemistry
AP Chemistry Lab (semester) and Forensic Science (semester)
Chamber Choir (hopefully!)

Here’s my junior year schedule with Spanish in it:

AP Calculus AB
AP English Language and Comp.
AP European History
AP Physics 1
AP Psychology
Honors Spanish 4
Chamber Choir (hopefully!)

If I were not to take Spanish next year, here’s my senior year schedule:

AP Calculus BC
AP English Literature and Comp.
AP Psychology
AP Biology
AP Statistics
AP Biology Lab (semester) and Varsity Chorus (semester)
Chamber Choir (hopefully!)

If I were to take Spanish next year, here’s my senior year schedule:

AP Calculus BC
AP English Literature and Comp.
AP Chemistry
AP Spanish (probably)
AP Chemistry Lab (semester) and Forensic Science (semester)
AP Statistics (maybe)
Chamber Choir

Please, please leave any helpful advice that could assist me in this process: Thank you very much!

You’re skipping Pre-Calculus? I don’t recommend that, though you’ve already taken Trig so I doubt it will make any difference at all. I recommend taking AP Calculus BC first, not taking AP Calculus AB at all. I recommend taking the Spanish course but changing AP Calculus AB to AP Calculus BC.

I would go:

Junior year:
AP CALC BC
AP LANGUAGE
AP CHEMISTRY
AP CHEMISTRY LAB + FORENSIC SCIENCE
AP EUROPEAN HISTORY
HONORS SPANISH 4
CHAMBER CHOIR

Senior year:
AP LITERATURE
AP BIOLOGY
AP BIOLOGY LAB + VARSITY CHORUS
AP PHYSICS
AP PSYCHOLOGY
AP STATISTICS
CHAMBER CHOIR

If you did this, you’d be testing out of AP Calc AB and going directly to AP Calc BC, which would free up one space in senior year. Only do that if you can handle it.
You’d also not be doing AP Spanish. Most colleges want you to go up to the 4th level of a language, so you should go to Honors Spanish 4.
Your schedule seems really science-heavy, so I assume you either want to go into the engineering or medical field, or just really love science, so it would be more beneficial to do an AP Science than AP Spanish.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Thank you both! I can’t skip right into AP Calculus BC (school makes us take AB first), which is disappointing. But, anyways, yet again, thank you so much; it is very appreciated!

In that case, I would choose either AP Statistics, or AP Psychology for senior year.
