Junior Year Scheduling

Schedule for junior year:

Journalism III

AP US History

AP Language

Spanish ?

MATH

SCIENCE

??

4) I’m a sophomore and am in Spanish I. Extremely bored; see my username to find out why if you don’t know already. I am considering taking Spanish 2 online, Spanish 3 H next year, AP Spanish senior year. Not sure, but will talk to my current Spanish teacher.

5) I am in PreCalc right now, which leaves me with the options of AP Calc AB (no BC available), AP Stats, or College Algebra. I was considering AP Calc AND AP Stats, but one of my teachers seemed dead set against me checking both (though it doesn’t matter, I meet with my counselor Jan. to discuss). I will talk with my math teacher, but I will have a different case because most PreCal students are juniors/seniors. AP Stats only requires Alg II, I’ve seen the syllabus, and looks extremely easy.

6) Chemistry H right now. That leaves AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Enviro Sci, and AP Phys B as options. I’m leaning towards AP Phys B because the teacher is really lax, let’s students go on their phones and iPods during class, doesn’t really ever teach. The down side is that you have to teach yourself if you expect to pass the exam, which I don’t mind doing. I could also take another sci, but I don’t know anything about them.

7) Not sure what to do with this. I could fill it with another science AP (or math, pending), but I’d have to see if I’m allowed. Students with 2+ AP classes are allowed to have ‘Research V,’ which is a study hall for AP students. Journalism 3 is basically a study hall most of the time, but pretty inconsistently.

Give me your wisdom!

Well, do you know what you want to do in college/career? Like English, Science, Math, etc...

I REALLY recommend against skipping a year of Spanish unless you're going to take a summer course where you can be immersed in the course because online classes rarely work out well (IMO) for foreign language.

Answer my q and I can help you more :].

I'm in the same boat as you with Spanish, AND mi mami teaches the class! I was going to test out of it, but I decided against it bc taking the class could easily get me a 100, but taking the test can get me less, thus lowering my gpa.

Don't know; just want to be really rich. But it isn't really related to some high school classes, is it? I take more APs to get more gen ed. classes out of the way. I guess Economics would be my closest interest to a math fields. I'm good at all my classes, regardless of my interest in them.

Well, the reason I ask is because if you like math more, then take 2 math AP classes, and if you're more English or social studies based then you should take those type of courses.

Don't take AP classes just because they're AP classes.

I'd take some kind of social studies course.

If that was the case, I'd stop going to school and just drop out. I take AP classes because they are more worthwhile instead of taking some random regular or honors course that won't mean anything the next year. When I have an interest, I pursue it outside of school. I really don't like any classes at all, but I know why I should go to school, and I would like to make my time spent there worthwhile. AP classes I'm actually getting credit for college.

But I do appreciate your advice :)

I'm trying to avoid regular classes for the reasons above.

Hey, I'm just saying.

Take a class that REALLY interests you, like philosophy or something out there like that.
