Help!

You get through it with perspective and foresight.

Ugh time management.
My club schedules are actually working out pretty nicely. I’m in about nine clubs and surprisingly, none of them have conflicting meeting dates.
Just finished an adult musical which was averaging 4-5 hours a night for rehearsal…glad that’s over.
But now I have a dilemma
I’m struggling with what to do for the winter whether get a seasonal job, run winter track, or do Les Miserables with an amazing theater group…ugh.

As far as school work goes, I’m managing pretty well. We have block schedule so I have 4 classes a semester (in my case, I’ll have 5 next semester -_-) but I’m in my ‘easy’ semester now with only 2 APs, honors physics (no ap) and honors spanish 3. Next semester will be hell with 5 APs.

Good luck on your classes! Which APs are you taking?

@liveleadlove ya my ec’s this year are overlapping unfortunately… I’m just doing my best to stay on top of everything. I am in APUSH, AP Psych, AP Lang, AP Bio, H Spanish 4, and H Pre-Calc

I am a fellow Desi junior and I am kind of struggling as well. A lot of the clubs I’m in conflict and there are so many volunteer hours to do and I have a musical instrument to practice and a ton of hw to do and sleep to get and yeah.

Hahaaaa senior year is NOT any better. You just learn to shut up and take it.

But seriously, I would freak out during junior year because I didn’t sleep until 2, had bunches of work, etc etc. It was drastically harder than sophomore year, and all I thought was “wow I can’t wait until senior year! It’ll be soo chill.”

Yeah, I was wrong. Senior year is worse for a lot of people because it’s everything junior year is, plus more clubs, harder classes, and college apps. I don’t even sleep that much anymore… I just take naps at my desk and keep on doing HW. I don’t have any weekends free or any weekdays free, either. But what I found, is that it’s the same for everyone. I think you just have to push through it and it won’t be that bad when you look back.

Junior year is easy compared to senior year.

Colleges value fewer ECs that you are passionate about and pursue in-depth, rather than a laundry list of activities. Quality over Quantity.

Hang in there, darling! It will get better, you just have to ride out these waves of stress coming at you right now like laser beams.

Time management is good, but what will help you a lot is getting as much of your work done in class as possible. Use the power of procrastination to motivate you to study, etc. Enjoy your EC’s; that’s your break time. And try to get at least 6 hours of sleep a night.

Good luck, junior year is really fun and you’ll do great! :)

Did you just say junior year is FUN? By fun, do you mean absolutely horrendous?

I don’t think Senior year is the worst, at least it won’t be for me. I’ll have all college classes at Elon University, which are known for being pretty easy with AP English 4 and Spanish 4 at school. I’m sure College apps will be extremely stressful, but as far as EC’s I do not think so. I won’t have more clubs or harder classes.
Everyone at my school says Senior year is 10x better.
