Hi guys, I wanted to get advice from those of you who have successfully completed junior year. I feel that I have taken on a lot more than I can handle and want get my priorities straight. What classes/extracurriculars could I possibly drop?

Classes:
IB English
IB Chem
AP World History
IB Spanish 5
APUSH
AP Calc
Newspaper

EC:
Figure skating (10 hrs week)
Interact District Council (representative of multiple schools)
School newspaper editor (3rd year)
CSF (treasure)
Key Club
Debate (Vice president)
Supporting a orphanage in Rwanda
Hospital Volunteer

Also what is your opinion about IB?

I’d let key club go for sure

Do u have to take newspaper to be in te school newspaper? Cuzbi would drop newspaper, ap world, or ap u.s.

I would say… drop either hospital volunteer or key club, but not both. All of your EC’s are really good, so I definitely see why your having trouble choosing!

Well I want to go into the medical field and mostly likely will major in some sort of biological science. And in order to be in newspaper you do have to be in the class
Have any of you done IB?

Which one do you like less?
I had tons of EC’s as a freshman and sophomore, but this year I’ve dropped all to about four/five: theater, skating, scioly, research. Volunteering on the side.

You can’t love all of them equally.

nice ECs
I’d drop the ones which you’re not as strong in and focus on developing your skills in the ones you ARE strong it :)

I’m going to point out that dropping newspaper as an editor kinda screws the newspaper staff. I may be biased :)

I’d say Key Club if you’re not passionate about it.

The editors of my school paper do nothing. It’s all up to the Managing Editors, who happen to be the EICs as well :P

Drop Key Club. Everything else there seems more important. Just look at the time that you put into the EC’s, and the one with the lowest number goes. Easy. Or just go with the one you feel the least passionate about. Passion > the name of the EC.
