Junioritis, Class of 2012

Might take Latin. Who knows.

All I know is, I NEED to take physics this summer, even if that means not being able to go to MIT :(

I can’t teach myself everything.

Trying to tell my mom I need physics for engineering… she’s like no,

Don’t stress too much!! That’s why I’m glad I love my state university and it’s my top choice. Reach schools with scholarships will be an alternative for me.

MIT- do what you need to do.

Huskies- im trying not to, it’s so hard.

WAIT GUYS! if I get accepted into the MIT program this summer, I’ll learn higher level physics  YES!!! I totally forgot. Ugh, fingers crossed, a month until I find out :)

Same same.

What’s your backup plan?

Applying to a two-week engineering program at RPI. If those two fail:

1) stay in the running for Queen of the PT Barnum festival (four year internship and 4k scholarship, but a huge time commitment.)
2) take physics at community college.
3) work again

All of those three things simultaneously.

What’s yours?

Well since you asked so nicely,

I’m probably attending a summer program this summer (won’t bore you all with the specifics). I also have two internships lined up… I just have to choose which one seems more appealing.

So: Daytime = Busy, Night = Who Knows?

Carnegie Mellon SAMS.

Ross Program Ohio State.

Some other math programs.

A bunch of classes at a CC.

good luck to all of us

MITHopeful16: I hear Hampshire College Summer Studies in Mathematics is an absolute blast.

My friend got into MIT today. Admissions on pi day!!

December 15. My MIT decision.

Wow, 10 pages for this thread. Well I’ll add in on the discussion and say that I’m stressed as he’ll this year too. I took the SAT on saturday, I wrote about jersey shore the essay, haha. My main challenges are college Spanish and AP english, I am doing bad in both right now.

Ah, excuse my sucky typos, I just recently got an touch and still getting used to the touch screen

Archduke, welcome and goodluck.

I’m lost in Calc, physics, and us history. History test tomorrow. Physics test Wednesday. Calc quiz Wednesday.

What I’m worried bout:
April-ACT
May-3 AP tests
June- 2 SAT 2s
Sept/oct - SAT
November- SAT 2s

And overall just stressed. I want the year to end so badly.

@MIT.

Do you remember that black kid I told you about? That got discouraged from applying to MIT (even though it was his absolute first choice) because people were giving him ?
Well, he said "
them", applied, and… he just got accepted. :D

Anyone here already taken the SAT and/or ACT and want to share their scores? What did you get in eAch section of the SAT

I’ve gone through 2 failure phases already - you know, when you feel like everything you’ve done in high school has amounted to nothing and you’re not going to get into the college of your dreams. Thankfully I’ve transcended that.

Now I just pull 5-hour sleep weeks, get sick the next week and fail at my swim meets, and repeat. I have to keep reminding myself, only two more months… (considering nothing is really important after APs except SAT IIs & finals in my non-AP classes)

My AP Macro and US Gov books will be here tomorrow  I’ll start self-studying everything then.

I’ll share once I get scores back. And if they are horribly bad then maybe not :stuck_out_tongue: I think I did ok for the first one though

I’m adding Berkeley or Ucla to my list of schools to apply to! Met with my counselor today and he said I should add more slight reaches. It’s all depending on my scores right now.

Anyone considering Upenn?
