Junior's chances at UF?

Also, about the essay topic. It’s says describe a meaningful experience and all that but I can’t really pick a specific event that was life changing. I’ve moved around a lot due to family issues and I want to talk about how the moves positively impacted my life. Is that okay?

No term is easier than the other, just to let you know. You’re accepted and then they place in the term that you selected. (Source: Current UF students.) If you receive your AA you are looked at by UF undergraduate admissions and transfer admissions.

That’s a perfectly fine topic. If a better comes around take it.

I took ACT 4 times 23 26 25 25…paid way to much for tutoring
My gpa similar 3.96/ 4.42(UF weighted)
6 AP all together
I think you have an excellent chance…maybe try to get into a couple honors society like math english

and I was accepted into Summer B 2013 just like I wanted

Good Lord.

What is ^that suppose to mean exactly…my point was doesn’t really help to continue retaking…and the 28 he has could possibly be high enough
I was just trying to be helpful and give encouragement…given my scores

Its comments like ^ that make me wary about going to UF…Thanks

I personally think your stats are really good enough to get in. I know so many classmates that got in with less impressive gpa and test scores than yours but that had a lot of beefy extra curricular activities. The only thing I really think you need to do to be even more impressive is volunteering some a lot of hours somewhere, this shows dedication to a cause and I’d avoid just spending time at little things here and there. I wouldn’t sweat the act, 2 more points of ACT shows nothing about your character and how well rounded you are. 28 is a great score!

@2013cheer I’m a girl lol and I don’t think Niqui meant in a rude way, I think she was just agreeing with the point your were making

Obviously Niquii77 wrote “Good Lord” because those ACT scores are low.

Or she could’ve meant “Oh god, I couldn’t imagine taking that test so many times”

No need to get defensive, this forum is relatively friendly, and from what I know Niquii is a pretty nice user.

^^ pretty sure that’s what she meant.

Whatever the comment meant…I do not think it was positive or helpful

Obviously the score is not too low for I was accepted to UF

only reason I took it 4 times was to try to get a 28 for 100% bright futures to help parents out…the last time was Dec. and would not even be considered for UF

The reason I shared was to be positive for her that a 28 is a good score, and my experience that taking it multiple times did not improve my score

I appreciate your post regardless.

Plus it looks ill be getting a leadership position in Best Buddies, I don’t know exactly what though, they’ll telling me Monday. I also believe I’m doing student council next year!

Oh, goodness! I didn’t know there would be such a…“controversy” over a post.

I’ll clear some things.

What did I mean? It was just a comment on your scores. You took it four times, had extensive tutoring, and your scores didn’t greatly improve. You said this yourself. Me saying “Good Lord” was the equivalent to “Wow, that sucks.” I’m was in no way talking down to you or judging you. :)

These interpretations are also true. My advice for you, 2013cheer, as a soon-to-be-high school graduate to another soon-to-be-high school graduate heading off to college, is to not turn towards pessimistic interpretations and to be confident in your own abilities. Don’t be insecure about your scores. Especially, if you’re going to be going to a university where the majority of students have higher score than you. You got accepted. UF liked how you presented yourself. Be proud of it and don’t get swayed so easily.

LOL ^ not confident, and pessimistic…I just did not see the point in ^ your post

I have no worries…I know I will be exactly where I am suppose to be…always has worked out for me in the past:)
