Juniors looking to apply for Summer/Fall 2012

I am excited to apply, UCF is like my number one choice! I plan on applying in July-early august, because you are more likely to receive your results, quicker! I just want to be accepted, lol!

Who's applying for summer? who's applying for fall? and why?

I feel like there is a better chance of getting in over the summer, plus gives you a chance to take a class or two, get used to the school.

What are your stats? I’m SUCH AN IDIOT. I should have applied for summer. ■■■.

I’m applying for Summer because my stats most likely would not get me into Fall 2012 since I messed up freshman year. My WGPA is a 3.4, would be a 3.8 without freshman year which sucks. I’m getting my SAT scores back in about a week but I don’t expect them to be outstanding either. I’m also taking the ACT in June. Laurentini- how do you get your school to send your transcript in July if school hasn’t started yet? And what about letters of recommendation? That’s what I’m trying to figure out right now. If my school can’t do it over the summer the earliest I could apply is around August 30th when the new school year starts for me.

Well, at my school. You can send them through the guidance office. I am getting my recommendation letters before schools lets out and my transcripts over the summer. This is because, I need to wait for this semester to end so I have my ENTIRE junior year in my transcript Which is open Monday-Thursday over the summer, most schools are. SO, I can send my transcripts electronically over the summer, or I could just have them print the transcript out and I could bring it to the admissions office (since I live nearby). I am also getting my recommendation letters within the last two weeks of school, apparently it is not uncommon for students to get their recommendation letters then.

I am getting my SAT scores this week too, I took it once in December and recently in March. If need be, I will take it again in May. My ACT I have taken in Feb. and in April. My WGPA is 3.68 (but I have recieved all As and Bs for this semester so far (working my butt off!) so it should go up hopefully a bit more!). I am applying for summer for the same reasons, you have a beter chance of getting accepted and if I didn’t get in, idk what I would do!

Let me guess, in your march SAT essay one of your subtopics was Jersey Shore? hahahaha. every single person I asked wrote about it.

I’m applying to UCF for fall in 2012 because I’m originally from Florida and I don’t want to go to any schools here in Arkansas. My current WGPA is 3.5 and I just took my first SAT and got R 590, M 470, W 470

I’m applying to UCF for next year for sure.

4.3 weighted
3.6 uw
1230/18 somethin SAT
28 ACT

leaning towards summer term? stoked either way

honestly sifanatic, i’m pretty sure you’d get in for fall.

Yeah, Sifanatic, if you want to go in for summer, go ahead, but I’m pretty positive you’d be accepted for fall.

Sifanatic I agree with the above two posters. Those were basically my stats for this year, I applied in november for fall 2011, and got in. Jut apply early and you should be good for fall.

i am a junior in PA and my brother is a freshmen at UCF He had a 3.75 and 1190 andgot in for summer. I have a 3.8 wegt4ed but only a 21 on ACT anddid not break 1,000 on sats. am a badtest taker. Iwillhavetoappaly for summr. I want togo to UCF so bad but heard FAU is up and coming- I will apply there too Im OOS so I am scared- anyone know about FAu? I heard they ar4e building newdormsw andall freshmen will live there and a new stadium for football team

I’m from PA also. Did you hear they’re putting your PSSA scores on your transcript now? Maybe that will help at all, even though most states don’t have testing like that. were the SAT scores out of 2400 or 1600 for you and your brother? I did poorly my first time but might be taking them again in June or May, also with ACTs in June.

I’m probably going to apply for the summer term because it has more benefits than fall term. However, you said you were applying in June or July, but while I was on a campus tour this weekend they said you can start applying in September. Not really sure if that’s the beginning, I’ll have to call and check that one. Good luck!

my pssas were good i guess- my sats were not even 1000 on the two so i am not submitting any- i hope to get a 22 on act im so nervous

Me either… 980 because of my ridiculously low critical reading score… 440. I’m terrible at focusing on long tests but i was happy enough with my math and writing score. While doing the reading section I would literally zone out in the middle of passages and just gaze around the room, lol. I told my mom I need some medicine to help me focus hahaha

woops i meant a 460*

where are you in pa- im in lower gwynedd- montgomery county I will apply for summer 2012 too- i hope they are more leniebt with oos- have you heard of any other florida schools that you like or visitied?

I’m from Bucks County. I heard that a lot of schools want OOS students because the tuition is higher, that may or not be true. I think the difficulty of getting in as OOS depends on all OOS applications and how good or not they are, but it is definitely easier in-state. I’m applying to UCF, USF, FAU, FSU and possibly FGCU. UCF is my number one, I am completely obsessed and nothing will change my mind. I kinda like the others and would be all right going there, however I am using them incase I do not receive admission from UCF. I can select one of those schools and transfer after a year or so. But ultimately nothing is even comparable to UCF for me.

Thanks for the reassurance but I did the recalculated gpa for college and have a 4.0W and a 3.5 something UW

That seems to put me more towards summer (hopefully my spring jr semester grades help)
