Ignatius, what prep books did you use between 10th grade and 11th grade PSATs, and what SAT prep do you favor?

Wow, tough room…
PSAT: 217
SAT: 2000 (best scores, took it twice)

Did not use any prep books.

Attended (three weeks - three hours a day) SAT math course offered at school in June. Only four people signed up for the class so lots of individual attention and the teacher was cool.

Took Testmasters course in July. Decided to take the course in the summer in order to have more time to focus on SAT alone. (Princeton Review offers a course at school in the fall on the weekends; older brother took it but felt like he spent seven days a week at school - he did
- and did the homework without really concentrating on it, since he already had school homework.) Testmasters was chosen because of the “exam club” - actual SATs are given every Sat and Sun and you can take as many as you want for six months after the class ends (and can be extended). Also tutorials are offered on Friday nights - oh yeah - if you need more help in CR or M or W.

Anyway, finished the class at the end of July and took two or three more SATs prior to the PSAT Oct junior year.

BTW - Testmasters guarantees a 300 point increase or you are eligible for a free review mini course. Use the sophomore/junior PSATs and not the class tests - more accurate imo. Sophomore PSAT was 201 and junior PSAT was 228. The funny thing: omitted a math problem by accident. The test booklet shows the correct answer, but it just didn’t make it onto the answer sheet. If the answer hadn’t been omitted, the score increase would have been 300 points.

i got 215 on psat & 2330 on sat w/o any extra studying…my friend got 224 on psat & 2040 on sat

Down… :(

189 on PSAT.
1870 on SAT 1. This was my first try though, I know it can go higher.

180 on PSAT
2080 on SAT

191 PSAT junior year
1900 SAT November (no study)
2070 SAT March (1-week study)

208 PSAT

Mine went up from 227 to 2400, though the 227 was somewhat of a fluke, as I had previously been scoring 240’s.

It was more of an improvement from sophomore PSAT to junior PSAT.
