Juniors: SAT?

Hey, so when are you guys planning on taking the SAT. and how many times? I've heard that lots of colleges don't care how many times you've taken it now, and take your highest verbal and highest math from each sitting. Also, have you taken any prep courses, just studying out of a workbook, or planning on just not studying at all?

Took the October one, am retaking in March, and then also next October if I'm still not happy with my score. Lots of people are taking in December.

Took the Oct one, but not sure if I want to retake. PR course is crap, just to let you know. You should use BB for CR and W and Barons for Math

I took it in October (1400/2190) and will retake it next month, hopefully for the last time so I can start on my SATIIs. I study very sporadically out of some random SAT prep book.

I'm planning for SAT I in January, and if I do badly on that one, then retaking either in my senior year. Hopefully I won't have to take it again.

im doing it january and march for sure and if i still dont like it then october of next year. sat II's on june

Took it June '06 at end of sophomore year. Took 2 practice tests out of the blue book.

Took it today (Nov '06) as a junior. Took the PSAT two weeks ago and didn't do any practice. Hoping that this is the last time I take it.

D took PSAT in her junior year--/required for the Natl.Merit Scholarship consideration, and then took her SAT I in April of Junior year, along with her SAT IIs and her AP exams.
Good Luck!

I am taking it in December to see how I do, and then I am going to get a tutor and take it in March. Then if my score still doesn’t satisfy me, I will keep working with a tutor and take it in May. Then I have the rest of the summer to take some courses online and start applying to my rolling admissions schools where their application is available in June or July.

I just took it today.

I'm taking the princeton review course, and then taking it in December. I'll retake it if I'm not happy with my score.

AZN3RD-- if the PR course "is crap", then how come the one I'm taking guarentees a score over 2000?

PR is pretty worthless...they guarantee 2000+ for advertising purposes. The benefits are before/after practice tests and some test-taking strategies like plugging in, eliminating extremes etc that are pretty obvious but helpful if you don't already know them.

i took the ACT+writing last week, and if i did well enough i wont retake that or take the SAT I. if im not satisfied (very likely) i will retake the act around march i guess, or maybe take the SAT I instead. def want to get my reasoning test and SAT IIs out of the way before the end of junior year though.

I took it in October; got 2310 (CR 780, M 730, W 800 12/12 essay)

I'll probably take some subject tests in June.

I am taking it in may and october.

I bought the Princeton Review CD back in 2002. I took the diagnostic test and got 900/1600. Then I read through the material, took another test, and got 1200/1600. I doubt it's entirely worthless -- though many of the strategies are common sense.

I'm taking a course at my school (not by PR or Kaplan) and will take with the rest of the juniors at my school in March.

I REALLY want my first time to be my last. Let's see!
