want to go in for business at stern & will be applying regular decision.

SAT score is too low for Stern

Send the ACT too, but yeah, I agree. The SAT score is a bit low for Stern.

hmmm. bump?

thanks for your opinions guys. yeah, i know stern is pretty much a reach...

Well, you could always apply for CAS and if you get in, take some solid courses..pull off a 3.8-4.0 and try an internal transfer to Stern...people have done it in the past so it's a viable strategy for getting into tough schools like Stern and Tisch...

^ the thing is, im using the common app, which i already submitted to several schools. so i cant change what i wrote on the common app anymore. but i made it pretty obvious that business is one of my passions and something that i definitely want to be pursuing in the future. wont it look a bit sketchy?

I wouldn't count on transferring from CAS in Stern, as I've heard that it's insanely hard. It might actually be easier doing an external transfer from a similarly competitive school.

Just don't give up your dream, it doesn't matter what other ppl think. But transfer from CAS to Stern is freaking hard I have heard. Only like 10 ppl or so get transferr.

BUMP again.

anyone else?

I'm a Stern freshman right now, and I think that you still have a chance. I also had a 2130 on my SAT (but I had a 1430 out of 1600) and my extracurriculars were sort of similar (esp. w/ band and volunteering). It's just better to have a higher SAT score so your chances go up. I would send the ACT score, it's worth a shot. The scores are a bit low, but you should still try, you never know what might happen!

And from my experience, you're better off applying to Stern than to CAS and trying an internal transfer...it's almost impossible. You need to get at least a 3.8 just for them to merely consider you for transfer admission. If you really want to do business, just go for Stern.

Good luck, and I hope this helps!

^ if my SAT is really the problem, im willing to take them again.

does nyu accept scores from january?

It's not likely, unfortunately, but if you try and rush them they may take them.
