I'm really want to go into some field of science with some kind of minor in spanish and eventually be a doctor.

how confident are you guys? i dont wanna bank on duke if i'm not sure if i can get in. if i am sure, then i can take off one of my safeties right (u of miami, UT, and smu)

probably not. football most likely (i've heard bad things about duke football, so maybe they need some help). i'm looking at track for other schools but duke track is too good. no shot at basketball.

3 safeties isn't necessary? how many do u suggest?
i can't see myself applying anywhere ED because i'd wanna see what kinda financial aid i get. EA i'm probably gonna apply to boston college, smu, and unc.

i read that to be released from ED for financial reasons it has to be really serious. like less than half that apply for it actually get it released. it's gotta be more than just 'i'm not happy with what i got'.

why would i use EA on somewhere i really really want to go? why would i not use it for my safeties that accept EA and get those out of the way?

Because if you get into your safeties early, you still have to apply to your reaches. If you get into a reach early, you don't have to apply to the safeties.

well none of my reaches are EA. they're all ED and i already said i don't wanna do that. so i could either do them all for the ED deadline or do my safeties EA and reaches ED.

You're a Texas resident. You have great stats. As I see it, UT would take you even if you were out-of-state, since your in-state anyway, that's your classic safety.

Well, normally you would be accepted into any state college in Texas due to the top 10% rule. I'm not sure how they do it with schools that don't rank, especially since you would be in the top 10% obviously if your school did rank. That might be something to look into, because you could get into UT-Austin automatically. (However, with your stats, you are guranteed into any Texas state college even without being in the top 10%)
