OK so the board is quiet today. I thought it was interesting that we met a freshman at preview whose priority number was already over 6000. I seem to recall it was 6300 or 6400 I have no idea if freshman and transfers are in the same grouping. I am guessing some registered for housing to get a number just in case... Some may still be waiting on notifications as late as April 1. Anyway, I am just thinking out loud about how their number crunching is going. They would need over 1000 of those folks to not matriculate to be on line with estimates of 5200 freshman. And there is still a notification date of 4/2. Any thoughts? Any recent articles in the Tallahassee paper about current numbers? How high did the numbers go last year? Anyone with a high number last year?

I have wondered if FSU caps at 5200 and 6000 accepted students send in their registration fee, is it first come first serve?

Attached are some "numbers" from USF's President Judy Genshaft which is facing same money woes as FSU.

Here is an article from 3/20 on budget cuts, and a mention that there are 2500 on a waiting list. Wonder if these are the current deferred students.
