Just a few questions about EC and classes!

First off, I want to say hello to everyone! This is my first post here, but I’ve been reading around some of the forums that I figured might be a bit relevant to my situation.

Anyways, I had a couple of questions I wanted to go ahead and ask.

A little back ground information-
I am an Early College High School student in South Texas. I go to TSTC for my college courses, and a high school (named ECHS, very creative haha) for my standard classes.

I have a mix of Dual Enrollment and AP courses, along with some standard courses that were not AP.

For example. I have AP world history, but Dual Enrollment U.S History 1 and 2. Chemistry was not available as an AP course, but I am now taking it as a Dual Enrollment course.

So here’s my question:
Do colleges prefer AP to Dual Enrollment, and if I take a course as a Dual Enrollment after taking the standard course, will it make a difference to colleges? (IE-Taking DE Chemistry after taking a standard Chem course.)

Thank you all in advance for reading my post. I hope to hear what you have to say!

AP is usually preferable because they have a clear standard to hold it do- CollegeBoard’s AP curriculum and exam. Colleges in your state may offer transfer credit for DE, in which case they would likely have equal preference.

Thank you for your input.

I do plan on going to college in state, and all of my classes are eligible to be transferred. I was worried AP might have been more valuable, and then I would have been worried I made the wrong decision about which high school I chose to go to.

Thank you! That does put my mind at ease.
