Hi so I just had a few questions about the nmsf app!

One thing I'm really worried about is when I click "view application" it almost always cuts off the essay (it just doesn't register the last fourth of it.) Every so often though it will show the whole essay. Should I worry about this? Is it possible this same error will happen when they actually print the application?

Also for college major can we just "approximate" what we plan to study? And for college entrance date can we just guess when we think we will enter college?

Thank you so much!

~~Oh one last thing-- is there any strategy admissions wise for putting a certain college as your first choice?

The essay has to fit in the space provided. Can you print it up and see if it fits? (Every year people have this problem–you might have to as your school counselor or call NM about this if you can’t determine if the whole essay is viewable.)

Major: it doesn’t matter what you put, or if you don’t actually major in that area. You can choose “undecided.” (I think these are used for press releases for finalists or just for NM statistical purposes?) Entrance date would probably be 8/14 or 9/14–you don’t need the exact date.

It won’t help with admissions if you put a college as first choice. It just means that that you can get that school’s NM scholarship (if they offer one) if you designate them as your first choice with NM by the deadline. I don’t think this info goes to the school until later.

I have a quick question (sorry if this isn’t exactly related, but I didn’t think it was worthy of a whole new thread).

On the National Merit application, it asks if you’re enrolled in college full or part-time, and I’m taking one class through PSEO, so I was wondering if that is considered part-time college.
