hey, so i'm a junior in CA, who is curious about my chances. it's been a rough last 2 years, with my mom having to move away and my granmother being really sick (both in my essay) so in anycase, here's my profile:

I believe USC doesn't care about what kind of person it accepts in terms of minority? It says so on the application I think. Your GPA is definitely on the low-side for weighted and even if it were unweighted 3.53. Kind of too late now to get that up since juinor year's almost over. But, it's not so bad. The rest of your app seems okay.

just aim for all a's....it'll be hard, but may be unrealistic since ur classes are so difficult, but i believe in u =]..oh oh, DO SOMETHING VALUABLE OVER THE SUMMER, LIKE VOLUNTEERING OR WORKING ON SOMETHING UR PASSIONATE ABOUT...AND PUT AS MANY HOURS INTO IT AS YOU CAN. it'll make ur app look that much better, if you haven;t done much volunteering, than do it. and i don't mean at the library. do something for the needy.

yup yup, no prob...oh and if you're gonna be applying for any scholarships, in or outside of the school, you may be asked about ur volunteer wrok (or whatever u decide to do over the summer, even tho i suggest volunteering lol) and WHY you did and WHAT you learned. it'll be easier for you to answer the questions if u actually are excited about doing it. basically, don't pick something to do just so u can have more service hours, they wanna see that u actually made a difference or gained something...actually regardless of if you're applying for scholarships, if you're applying for ANYTHING that involves college, questions about it may come up (and your answers will only make you look better)
