Just a poll. Does anyone think the ACT is HARDER?

I do.

I got a 25 on it but got about a 2200 on SAT... of course I took ACT before I took the SAT 3rd time but STILL, it was much harder for me.

It's the same here. After taking SAT for three times, I took ACT once.

I got 28. I thought it was a bit tough with time. However, I didn't get to practice at all.

I think it gets easier with frequency. By the time you've taken it three times, I'm sure it's easier than SAT.

I got a 32 but i dont know how! It was soo much harder than the SAT, which i got a 2090 the first time.
Even though the SAT is so much longer, each individual section for the ACT is insanely stressful and i kept running out of time which is something ive never had a problem with on standardized tests before

My D thought the ACT was easier and scored about the same on both. She also like the one shot deal since most colleges will count the ACT as your standardized testing and your subject tests. That beats the longer SAT plus the separate sittings for the various subject tests anyday. Plus with the ACT you get to pick which score dates to send to colleges. If you don't do well, just don't send that scoring report. With the SAT it's all or nothing. The colleges will see every testing date, every score, every subject test ...

I kept running out of time on the ACT's. Caught me by surprise.

Time was an issue for me too but I thought the ACTs were easier. Took it once and got a 33, but a best of 2040/2400 on SATs out of three tries. If you are more of a math/science person, the ACTs suit you better.

really depends on the major, I think

I thought SAT was easier, probably because I actually prepped for it (2 PSATs and took some practice tests). Timing is way more comfortable and accommodating. Essay's a pain, but I feel like the questions and format of the test (especially the fact that you can write in test booklet!) are easier.

ACT, however, I kept running out of time, and I found the reading questions harder than SAT CR. And the science section's tough.

i am a math science guy though. I am majoring in biomed engineering.. they are both my favorite and best subjects.

dont worry gyros, im a complete science guy and
i scored a 30 on ACT
sadly the science subsection i scored a 26
while 2300 on SAT.

I did ****ty on the SATs, but got a 30 on ACT. My 26 in Science and 9 on the essay killed me.

my scores were similar, but I prefered the SAT. overall the ACT reading was extremely easy, but I thought the rest was a lot harder than the SATs. and I thought I hated the SAT essay prompts....

i prepped a lot for the SATs and did badly (under 2000..i had a headache and hadnt got much sleep the night before, but still!!!) and got a 32 on act with no prep. so, i thought act was easier!

if you suck at vocabulary (like me), take ACT. For example, I got a 33 on Reading yet a 600 on SAT CR, and 240 points higher on the ACT than the SAT (if you convert and on the 2400 scale)

Yes, definitely. ACT:26. SAT:2330.

Well, I took the ACT with no prep and a year before the SAT, so that might be why. Both scores are the first time I took them.

the questions are not harder. in fact, it's easier imo. But it's the time they allow you to finish the questions that kills

My scores convert to be about the same by the princeton review scale. However, if not for a comparitively terrible science score, i might be in about the 34 range on the act. The act seems easier save for science.

I raised my science score from a 28 to 32 in one testing. It's not too bad, but I basically spent my entire study time on the science section only.

the ACT is 10000000000000000000000000 times EASIER than the SAT
(at least it was for me since im a math/science person)

however, im sure if you took sat and act, it would overall benefit you. 6 opportunities to do well.
