Firstly, I want to apologize if this is in the wrong section or if it is a repeat of threads you have already seen. I did some research before posting this but I didn't find the answers to my specific questions.

I am currently attending a Community College and I have numerous W's on my transcript (12+). All of these W's are due to medical purposes. I know that W's will look bad on my transcript and I have accepted that but my question is if I do good the next 3 or 4 semesters that I have left at my community college will it help balance out the W's?

Also, how badly will the W's affect my chances of getting into an out of state college? I know that my community college has a 'contract' with the state colleges in my area that they have to accept a certain number of transfers a year and so I am wondering if it would just be better to transfer to an in state college?

My current GPA is a 3.4 but there are a few classes I need to make up because I got a bad grade in the classes (also due to medical reasons). However, I am not too worried about this because the semesters in which my medical problems didn't get in the way I got great grades so I know I can get my GPA higher with time.

There are numerous reasons that I would like to transfer out of state but if I can't I would totally be understanding of that.

I am looking to transfer to colleges in NY, Connecticut, Massachusetts or Michigan.

I am not sure. I know that given the fact that I have about a year and a half to two years left at my Community College it might seem like I am looking to far in advance BUT I know I need to be proactive and look into colleges now.

I was thinking that once I narrow down my choices of colleges I want to attend I could call the admissions office at those school and ask them about this but I don't know how much help they would be etc.

I have my medical issues under control now, as well, and as each day passes I seem to be doing even better. So, I honestly don't think my medical issues should get in the way any longer.
