Hi, I am a Sophomore at GW and I am from St. Louis as well. I work for the admissions department as well.

Your stats are very good and some similar to mine. You can tell that you are a good and motivated student.

The one thing that might stick out a little bit is your GPA. Your unweighted GPA is what really matters and should be high.

Make sure that you point out your leadership qualities that is very important to GW. Also make sure you SHOW YOUR INTEREST. Come visit, interview, and give feedback on your experience. The admissions department takes a note of everything you do to show your interest. GW WANTS STUDENTS WHO WANT TO BE HERE.

Finally, admissions are WAY up this year. And the University is going to accept less students than last year. So make sure you are thorough on every aspect of your application. GOOD LUCK! This is an AMAZING place to be!

Thanks! I went for a three day visit back in October. I had an interview, did a campus tour and went to class with one of my friends who attends GW.

About the GPA thing, when I was there, they said they don’t recalculate your GPA, is that not true?

thank you for the corretcion. yes APPLICATIONS are way up this year.

And I am not sure who told you about the GPA or why, but GW has its own system where it will unweight your grade, but they also take into consideration what classes you have taken which is a big plus for you since you have taken hard classes.
