Do you need to do the math subject test if you want to go into business?

It would depend on the college you are shooting for. Wharton wants it, MIT Business wants it, Stern I believe wants it. However, if you are going to a liberal arts college with an Economics major, you're not required, but it's recommended.

Do any Ivy Leagues require it?

Colleges want to see the math SAT II for everyone -- it's not required, but they like to see it, since it verfies your grades in math and is a good sign of analytical thinking ability. Definitely take it if you think you can do relatively well on it. I've heard that IIC has a really generous curve (it must've, since I got a 790 on it a few years ago and I'm sure I got several wrong).

Would it hurt your chances if you didn't?

Wharton wants it (UPenn)

If it would hurt chances is a hard question to answer. There is a bit of an expectation to see a SAT2 Math grade on your record if you do want to get into economics and business. It would be unfair for them to not consider your record if you don't have it, but I think it would seem awkward to them.

Thanks for the replies.
